No idea if this is allowed, but I just don't want to see this get lost and disappear forever. While digging through some old drives I located a VMware image containing Win2K with the DDK and everything needed to build the original xbox kernel (including all source for both retail, chihiro and dev kit images). Build scripts are there and it builds working bios images that I have tested myself on a retail unit with modchip. I don't want anything for it, it just took me forever to get working and things building and didn't want to let it all go down the history plug hole. The whole lot is quite big. Reply here and will work out where I can safely upload it all. Hope this helps someone!

This would be great to get archived and spread around so iterations can still be done if necessary. Appreciate being willing to upload it for everyone!

Wasn't this leaked several years ago? Or is this something new?
I seem to remember OG Xbox kernel source or something like that leaked a while ago... but maybe I'm wrong.

That particular release doesn't actually work right. I made that one, so I should know. I have a newer rebuild of it, which works, but video doesn't initialize for whatever reason.

Does anyone know if the XBOX stuff out there (leaked code etc) included any of the source code for the DirectX stuff?

All the DirectX stuff was not included - that would have been in the xdk's source code - title libraries are just that, pre-compiled libraries, in the xdk. None of that is in the kernel code.

As for fixing the repack, it's just a means of removing the public\xdk03 folder, and removing it from the setenv.cmd, IIRC. It still doesn't appear to build a fully working kernel - or at least XQEMU doesn't like it. My only real interest in it, in the first place, was to see if any of the remnants from the alpha kernel resided in the code - not much does. XDK's up through 3424 appeared to be bootable on alpha kits, however.

I'm working more on trying to figure out how the XDK recovery mechanism loads updated kernels on the Alpha kits - there's an XBOXROM.bin in the root of the CD, but I cannot figure out if it's encrypted or not, or if it's just a patch that gets applied by the default.xbe (Recovery.exe) - which is what I suspect is going on. Those later recoveries employ an El Torito boot record to launch the kernel on Alpha II hardware - as far as I can tell, anyway.
