Nah, they want to charge for a game you already own.
Preview analysis from digital foundry
Wonder how things are on the tech side. For instance, how many cores is the emulator using? How much cpu load is being taxed on to the apu? Etc. Etc. If I were to guess I think it might use 3 cores for the xenon emulation and one as a manager of some type that controls the emulator. We may never know...
Whatever its doing it is a technical wonder that they could pull it off
it's actually not real backwards compatibility though, they still need the 'go ahead' from publishers. Probably means no PGR 4 since even though Microsoft published it, I don't see it being activated for it.
They need the go ahead because as is the trend these days, a Dev may want to re-release their game on a newer platform as some bull shit HD version.
All the sudden publishers care about their old games again.
It would be interesting to see a list of the games that don't get approval. I'm curious what other reason a publisher would have for denial other than HD remake/remaster/rehash/recashing-in.
Probably lost licenses (MvC3 et al.)
Or maybe they don't want certain content coming back, like the first edition GTA: San Andreas.
EDIT: Wait, unless they took care of the Hot Coffee mod before the XBOX version was released.
I'm so fucking excited for Conker L&R on XBone. As a fan of the N64 original, I've always wanted to try the Xbox remake and now I finally have an Xbox console to do that with.
(Yes, I am aware of the criticisms that surround the Xbox remake, but I'd still like to try it out for myself.).
*sigh* Well, there goes my evening productivity.
I'm coming for you... mudcrabs.
Cave games BC yet?
OK, I'll continue to sit on my corner of the internet not caring.
This is how the 360 version of Red Dead Redemption looks on the X.
Hmmm, it doesn't say if every version of those OG Xbox games works. As in the special editions or GOTY editions.
I'm sure any edition of a game works, here is original Xbox Panzer Dragoon Orta on the Xbox One X.
This is almost making me want to turn on my Xbox One again....
Huh, wonder if the PAL version of Orta will actually be beatable this time (freezes on 360).
Steel Battalion next?
Playing Orta right now on my Xbox One X. It's hard to beleive this is an original Xbox title. It looks so good.
