Seamus' co-worker at MS Denise Chaudhari posted some pictures on twitter in regards to the designing of the Duke controller.

My only complaint with the Duke is that the ABXY buttons are slanted and not in a "+" shape. When playing a game I instinctively after pressing say "A" to go straight up and hit "Y" but "Y" isn't there its slightly off to the side. Same with "X" and "B". One can probably get used to it after a while but it was highly annoying the first time.

Is this controller comfortable? It doesn’t look like it from the picture, but of course I’ve never used it.

It's the controller that separated the men from the children for xbox.

The weight was absurd. It went perfectly with the stupidly large size of xbox.

Xbox felt powerful, the psone was tiny compared to it. The odd boot up noises (all bass)
made a sinister feel to it. The green color was sort of warezy too, it felt like
    an engineer made a console.

Then came corporate and the abomination that was xbox 360 with it's stupid shape that
compromised cooling and reliability, and it's massive stupid power brick.

We got rid off all of our dukes back in the day when the S controller came out, except for 1. That one was used for whoever came in last in any 4 player game we played. That controller was never comfortable. Buttons and D-pad both were bad.

Hyperkin also made a limited run of 15 green controllers.

Wait are they wireless now? I thought Hyperkin was only making wired versions. Albeit that picture with the 15 green ones could be just showing them off assembled sans cords. But I was under the impression they would all be wired. I like it if they are going to be wireless. Would be interesting to see these adapted for use on the actual Original Xbox. The Dreamcast is getting officially licensed wireless controllers by Retro-Bit which have their own bluetooth dongle. I am pretty sure if these are going to be wireless and bluetooth somebody could make a adapter for them that plugs into the front of the Xbox like the other 3rd party wireless controllers.

They are wired, probably can be removed.

Most of their stuff isn't as bad as people say, from my experience.
I saw a comparison photo of a launch team green Duke next to one of those, and the colour is way off which is good. I was worried someone was going to get a hold of one of those and make a fake launch team controller. :p

Yes, different green by design I think. It's closer to the media center remote control.

Nah, too many obvious flaws to pass for a legit LT Duke. Plastic on the inside is way different (giant squares), Start and Back buttons have print on them and don't say Start and Back over the buttons and no logo in the jewel. That being said, I am still glad they went with a different color. Haha

Can I just say that I hate the fact its a faken screen instead of just an Xbox logo jewel?

As nostalgic as I am for the Duke controller, I'll probably never buy Hyperkin's remake. I get the feeling that it's going to feel like a mad catz / gamestop controller.

Really fun concept though. If they remade the S controllers, I might be interested.
