Its possible yes but I don't think MS and their lawyers would appreciate it.
Kinda like they don't appreciate xbins? Lol but it's stood the test of time. But I get what you are saying. Just gotta find some one with big enough balls.
Also, just a thought. I think setting up a clone of retail xbl would obviously bring on legal issues... but pnet subscriptions aren't for sale. So it isn't screwing M$ out of money since it's a closed door service anyway. Would be interesting to see what would happen in court with that.
Xbins isn't costing them nearly the amount of money a private Xbox Live would.
Has this topic derailed from XDK recoveries and Shadowboot ROMs?
Definitely. Lol. My bad.
As soon as "shadowbooting" comes up, people always begin to argue.
Look peeps, its software related stuff. It will eventually leak. It will eventually be modified to do something it wasn't intended to do. Just look at the hackdevkitbios of the original Xbox gen debug kits. It made original Xbox debug a play retail discs. Then when 360 came out, the KK exploit happened. Then Jtag. Then hacked og Xbox comp files. Suddenly an xdk could run retail xbe/discs. Then RGH blew up. RGLoader was closely there after and now you get an xdk, and YOU get an Xdk....
So now that the 360 has stopped being produced and more than likely the last recovery ever is .18, why are we getting up in arms over shadowbooting?
To answer the questions; shadowbooting can allow you to use retail discs in the drive. They will run just like a retail console with the xdk launcher still at boot.
They also allow production net connection. Now, from what I've seen lately, they do one or the other not both. I could be wrong or maybe those weren't shared with me. But, instead of pussy footing around with this, and being afraid of it being leaked, like I said hackdevkitbios was what was then where shadowbooting is today.
So does Shadowbooting allow pnet connection without getting bricked?
Afaik, shadowbooting as nothing to do with Partnernet. But again, perhaps I'm wrong.
Cool, sorry. I know this thread has gotten completely off track thanks in part to me mainly. Just glad I found people who know what they are talking about and can answer questions.
And who won't get up in a secretive twist about not wanting to answer.
Will this thread continue @XeDK?
ShadowBoot for .18
that will allow you to get on Xbox Live and run retail content
getting the kit online will require a version spoof
the ability to run retail content
gives you the ability to get your CPU key
reply or PM me for any help
now unfortunately you can't get online without having a service of some kind

Yay! This means we're all cool kidz now right?
.18 is a really shitty recovery, not many builds run on it. Not worth the time.
.18 ? I've had zero issue. Now .13, .13 fucking blows.
I've yet to try 18 personally, but some people say various betas have a really hard time running on it.
.13 is pure ass.
Alright folks, given the amount of PM's I have had today regarding this issue (you know who you all are), I will test this and get back to ya'll.
Anyone tested this thus far so I can save my time?
