WTB: If anybody has the 1.4G Xbox Dreamx with the turbo switch on the front or a Trusty Xbox for sale I'm very interested Please let me know if anybody is willing to sell
It looks like you can still get the DreamX here: http://www.gamestron.com/enhancedxbox.html I believe Trusty no longer does the P3 mod. There are some games that don't work with the 1.4 Ghz patch, I couldn't tell you if the DreamX mod does a better job. Xbox-Scene has a couple: Mr. Slim http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=692217&st=285 (kind of illiterate and will likely give you a hefty price :/) docentore http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=745818 (needs DIY heatsink) I'm keeping mine though
trusty still does the mod. Drop him an email (you can find his email on Xbox Scene). Current price is 240 US$ shipped for a board with 1.4G and 128 mb RAM and the custom heatsink.
I actually have a trusty one lined up but im really looking for the dreamx with the turbo switch @weinerschnitzel you have a dreamx???
Hello all,I am still doing the 1.4G P3-S CPU on XBOX 1, now there is a option of speed switch: to select the CPU run 1.4GHZ or half performance (the result is quite same as the retail XBOX 733M ) ,under half performance mode, all XBOX games are running on normal speed thus no need do 1.4G patch...
Well I guess the cat is out of the bag now. This is the surprise that I was talking about a month ago I finally got trusty to look into doing the speed control switch. I have been asking him for about 8-9 months for a way to control the CPU on his 1.4GHz board with a switch like the DreamX console. After some back and forth with it he finally got it to work. I have the first working 1.4GHz that he made with the working switch for the dropped power level. I will take pics of the chip and the speed control circuit with the heat sink off so everyone will see what it looks like and start a complete thread on it as soon as I can! I was not going to say anything yet about it until I got a chance to get it all documented but I guess trusty has decided to start to offer it already for everyone else that is ordering new boards as a option. It really does drop the speed in half. It always registers in XBMC as 1400MHz even when at half power. The way he did it was cutting the CPUs performance in half but not touching the CPUs frequency. Since he does not touch the frequency XBMC always sees it as the 1400MHz. On games that run to fast you can flip the switch on the fly and the game drops to normal speed. If you flip the switch again the game will speed back up. But this is only for the games that ran too fast in the first place. Games that run fine at the full 1.4GHz speed do not need the speed control switch since they are already running at the proper speed and can handle the full power of the CPU. This is not the same circuit that the dreamX has and does not work the same way the dreamX does. This circuit was designed by trusty and built by trusty. His work is very good and his boards have not given me any trouble at all and are recommended highly by me! Thank you trusty for all the hard work and for getting the speed control working for me! I am just glad that I did not give up on bugging you for this giant favor! Now everyone that orders a motherboard from you can get this awesome option for themselves.
Eeyup. Cat is out of the bag. Looks like I'll be selling my current 1.4G console off in favor of this new version. I've known of this thing for around 2 months now. I was asked to keep quiet.
Thanks sonicdude! You did keep the lid on tight! BTW it does work good! I still want the DreamX also though! But that is the xbox horder inside me though! I also just got a email from trusty thanking me for for my support and for basically thanking me for asking him to do this speed control project! He sounds like he is renewed about the whole 1.4GHz project! He even joined our community yesterday! Trusty is really good at what he does and if it was not for him we would not have a 1.4GHz xbox to enjoy and now it is even more useable!
OMGWTF Want. Would be perfect to wire a switch or relay to the controller's yellow line and use mempaks with the CPU switch. @trusty, can we send our modified boards back to you for the switch at a reduced rate?
anyone got any images/info on this custom heatsink , im thinking of doing a custom rackmount xbox and the current one is too tall
Hey dan I am going to take my trusty apart tonight or tomorrow and take pics of the new speed control I will also post pics of the heatsink. I have both versions of the trusty 1.4. I am gonna pull that machine apart also and take side by side pics of the trusty CPUs. Both of the custom heatsinks I have are the same!
