    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone out there had a PlayStation 3 60GB CECHA01 with firmware below 3.00. I've heard that 3.00 introduced the Slim startup sequence on all PlayStation 3's. If anyone has a 60GB PlayStation 3 with firmware below 3.00. Or is downgrading one possible? Any help would be much appreciated!
    Kind regards,

You can get any CECHA01 upgrade to 4.8.2 use ps3xploit install CFW and enable the QA flag then downgrade to your desired OFW.

    Hi RAPTOR115X,

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep this in mind if anyone has a 60GB PlayStation 3. I'm still looking for one at this moment.

You could also consider getting a DECHA00A (Debugging Station) unit, they're roughly the same price as retail units (if you can find them) these days and allow for very easy downgrading.

I agree with Raptor115X. Just bough one myself, The DECHA00A has ps2 hardware inside, plays any region PS1/2/3 games + backups. In my opinion its the ultimate PS3!

    Hi thebigman1106,

I appreciate the feedback on which one I should consider. I'll most likely go towards the DECHA00A variants. What firmware are you running on yours?

    Kind regards,

Mine came with 3.60, I'm not sure if I will downgrade it (yet).

That's cool! So your DECHA00A doesn't have the OtherOS functionality?

That's true. Once I get one, which will be soon, I'll be sure to check the firmware and whether or not it has OtherOS functionality.

It will probably be like retails, so any firmware that supported OtherOS on retails will be the same on debugs, but is removed in newer versions, but like i said, if you downgrade to a firmware with it, you can run Linux all day long.

EDIT: Also on newer CFW, if that's your thing there are patches to re-enable OtherOS on some of the latest CFWs.

    Hi RAPTOR115X,

I never actually knew with CFW's that you could actually bring OtherOS back. That is awesome information. Thanks RAPTOR115X, you've been most helpful!

Note that, the best upscale for PS2 game is with CECHC or CECHE, ie semi hardware emulation. For the exemple upscale a game from 480p source (option mode or combo boot) you have a nicer upscale to 1080p istead of full retro no upscale 480p, but upscale to 480i source run. Also less of lag or bug with semi. But full have a better compatibility nearly 98% with cfw cobra vs 95% for semi. Noticeable game run with full OR2 SP but not run on semi. So Macross dont run in semi and full.
