Nostalgia comes in 30 year waves. 60s Nostalgia was a big thing in the 90s for example.
And we've just recently got fed up with 80's nostalgia.
True, but none of these have been worth playing. Except for the M2 PS2 releases in Japan. So we finally have a quality product that will likely play just as well as the originals. I think that’s great.
Just as well if not better
Not everyone has been involved in previous resurgences of retro gaming like the boom in the emulation scene. The Nintendo and Sony mini consoles are much more mainstream nostalgia devices. One thing that may have helped this along is the popular "retro styled" indie games. Or even games like Mega Man 9 and 10. When that sort of stuff does well it shows IP holders that this stuff can make them money.
