So i have an acer aspire laptop which has a network adapter inside plugged into a pci-e x1 (or x2) i want to use it for an external gpu.

I know that the parts so far i want for it is a nvidia gtx 1050 and a mini itx with just enough power for the video card as far as the other parts i am little lost or know what would best suit my setup.
    The cheaper the better.

You know you won't get full speed, right?

Just because a 16x pci-e device will work in a 1x or 2x slots, doesn't mean it runs full speed. You will only get some of the performance.
