I'm not going to spend too long discussing the "Eclipse" project and whether or not it was ever intended for use with a Saturn conversion of Virtua Fighter 3 (though sources within AM2 have confirmed that it did NOT), but this is the first mention I've ever seen of the specifications. Would it have been possible to release such an upgrade cartridge in 1997/8 with Power PC components while keeping the price below £100, as promised* by former Sega Europe's former head?

*For those who don't know, it was supposedly making this claim to a UK magazine that ultimately cost Andy Mee his position within the company...

Power Crystal could have been awesome. I believe it was to be the M2's answer to Zelda 64, except it was suppose to feature even larger environments similar to something like Daggerfall or Morrowind.

Unseen64 has some nice screens that look way to good compared to the pics in the magazine scan. Says they were taken from some tech demo, but I think they were just 3D renders unfortunately.

Here's a link to screenshots they have if anyone wants to check them out.

I had totally forgotten about this game but back in the day I was really excited over it. Still makes my heart a little heavy knowing the M2 never got to see the light of day.

Man I miss the 90's... :grief:

Would've bought if they hadn't split up a single sketchbook into multiple auctions. That's just nasty.

Those french magazines sure had a log of beta pictures. Did they have special contacts or just reprint them from Japanese magazines?

Any more info on this game? Was it going to be 2D or 3D? I'd love to see some screenshots - the original Vectorman is one of my favorite games of all time.

Yakumo > Since, say, 1993, some french magazines have/had a journalist who lived in Japan. Before that, We had scanners.

la-li-le-lu-lo > I may be wrong but I don't think you'll find pictures of actual gameplay. The development probably never started.

It must have been released, as it's playable in MAME and there's no mention, that I've seen, of it being a prototype/beta.

Thanks for your posts but, actually, the purpose of this thread is to post "new" scans/pictures of unreleased games or screenshots of beta versions, though the title is not very clear.

Talking about Chris Covell, he has recently posted a picture of an early version of Metal Fight.
Talking about Moon Dancer, the picture you posted is the only one I've seen on the Internet, though there are tons of screenshots in the Goodby soft catalogue.
And since you pointed out my mistake about Bonk, I recently discovered the pictures of an alleged Metroid DX I posted 2 or 3 pages ago were actually taken from the monochrom game running on GBC.

I've never seen it. Did some googling, but found nothing. Would like to see those screens if possible.

Hmmm.... It won't kill anyone if I give a sample to those who asked for it (in PM only) (please, don't share it) (thanks).

The character in Dando sure looks like a Legendary Axe rip off.

Various CD32X games that didn't see the light of day in Japan. This ad also lists Kids on site, which was released on Mega-CD but I didn't know a CD32X verion was planned.

Crash Landed/Team Racing (2010) [360/PS3/Wii, DS for Landed]

So, me and some other people on CM forums or say, separately CrashMania.net... Compiled a couple of pages about this unmentioned in IGN, and Polygon game that the media loves to ignore, yet makes the fans rage and complain about non-ND games just because its different or has changes.

Just to make it quick, here is the link to the unseen64 and crashmania.net article:
    http://www.unseen64.net/2011/07/25/crash-bandicoot-2010-cancelled-xbox-360-ps3-wii/
    http://www.crashmania.net/crash-team-racing-high-impact-games/
    http://www.crashmania.net/crash-landed/information/
(Note: I compiled the information in the unseen64 website, its not as organized as the crashmania article, which was compiled by HP Zoner. Also, you may see the latest info from the comment section, and because the site has been updated a few weeks ago, my newest update has been not approved yet)
