    King's Field - PlayStation - beta (Consoles + 36 - october 1994)

    Different HUD.

    Silpheed - Mega-CD - beta (Consoles + 19 - april 1993) 3
    [IMG]
There isn't any indication about the area in the final version.

    Supervision (Consoles + 07 - march 1992)
I'm not an expert on this subject but I don't think this version hit the shelves. The final version (by Watara) is grey.

    Aquanaut's Holiday - PlayStation - beta (Consoles + 36 - october 1994)
Not sure if there is any difference. Though, the game was released almost one year after this preview.

    Wiz n' Liz - Mega Drive - beta (Consoles + 19 - april 1993)

    "Wizzy n' Lizzy"

that slipheed stage is in the final game but what I find funny about that shot is that there seems to be a pink bird flying across the screen.

Actually, it was the only stage they showed during this preview, probably the most colorful of the game - on the same page, one of the graphists told that he regrets the Mega-CD had so little a color palet.
What I mean with the area thing is that in the final version, the game didn't show you in which stage you are. On the screenshot I posted, it show you where you are but there isn't any indication about the ammo.

Oh yeah, so it does. I'm still wondering what that pink bird is though.

I could well be. It really does look like a duck or bird flying across the screen in the beta shotthough. I wonder if this stage was meant to have animals? then again, maybe not because it looks too comical.

The lower palette color used in Silpheed is why the background FMV were so good and smooth compared to the average FMV on the system.

Secret of Evermore (SNES) beta title screen/artwork?

Maybe related to a phantom japanese version that was never released (it's from Famitsu)?

Indeed. Game Arts also spent a lot money in R&D in order to improve its video compression technology during the Mega-CD/Saturn era : Yumimix and Urusei Yatsura's cutscenes run in fullscreen, Gun Griffon and Lunar SSSC used the MPEG card, etc...

My bad! Actually, years ago, I read GA developed new tools for Yumimix and Urusei Yatsura used the same technology.

Thank God They didn't let them touch Sonic. All games made by Realtime Associates are crap. Bug! one was so dull I couldn't be bothered to finish it. The second game was better but eventhat was shite IMO.

The mockup screen of Secret of Evermore is definitely the US version, as the company name is "Squaresoft".

    Crystalis/Crystalis 2 (Next Generation 1 - january 1995)
I still don't know if SNK had any plan about making a sequel to Crystalis. It could have been just a rumor.

neogeocdworld > I don't remember having seen articles related to SamSpi RPGs other than those you posted on your website. (BTW, I'll come to the RGC next month).

SiZiOUS > you have probably heard about abandonware magazine, although I also have my own collection of (unscanned) magazines.
