I thought Mnemo was a Russian citizen,
He's located in Kazakhstan. They are independent from Russia I believe.
Kazakhstan the certain country with the president
Does anyone know where I can get the reverse USB port he's got on the newest versions of this board? A part # would be sweet. I've got a v1 that has the outward facing USB port, which requires you to modify the shell. But I'd like to replace it with the USB port that points inwards. Any help would be great.
I think both boards use standard USB ports and he just made them face the other direction in the newer boards. The new boards have a dual port with just the top one electrically connected.
I would say you can go about flipping it around in 2 ways, solder leads to the port and spin it around. Or make a custom PCB that flips the port around, should be fairly simple to make since it would be just 8 holes with 4 traces between them.
Yeah I've modded it with solder leads to the port, but it's not the cleanest solution I'd like. A custom PCB seems like overkill.
What I'm looking for is the same part he's got on the newest boards, I haven't been able to find anywhere that sells the same style dual USB that is facing the opposite direction.
Or if anyone knows the best way of contacting Mnemo, please let me know. I could try to ask him for a part #.
Does anyone know how long the firmware should take to install? I'm trying to update to the latest (2017/09/05) and its been going for ~45 minutes which seems awful long...
10 secs, if that. Something is definitley wrong if it's been 45 mins.
Thanks. I cycled the DC (not sure what alternatives I had at that point, if any) and it came back up. Tried upgrading again, and again it did nothing. I'm on 16-08-16, hopefully nothing important in any subsequent updates since the update doesn't want to apply.
I had this issue too, I remember I needed something else from the website to do it.
I just got my USB GDROM today and have it installed to DC. But I'm not able to start my DC to boot menu. I have formatted my USB stick to FAT32, 64KB Cluster size; and download the root_init2.rar(tried root_init.rar also) from the homesite, then extract the files to root directory of USB stick(SanDisk Cruzer Gilde 16GB). Everytime when i start my DC. It just load the Dreamcast icon then jump to CD player, not even shows the SEGA icon. Does anyone get any idea?
Would the USB-GDROM work with my Dreamcast?
Is there a link to USBGDROM firmware changelog?
It seems that it has control over the gdrom, see if there is v1 or v2 on the motherboard, if v2 is not compatible
You have to see if on the motherboard there is written v0 or v1 (compatible), v2 (not compatible for gdrom control)
My motherboard is VA1
Have you ever burned CD games? Eliminate automatic start from settings.
I can't even boot to the GDrom menu
I wanted to ask you, when he sent Mnemo, sent you the tracking number of the package?
Detach usbgdrom and put the original gdrom work ing, or even only the original gdrom card and start the console
Yes, he sent me the tracking number of my package; my console works fine with the original GDrom, but not boot to the USB GDrom menu whrn installed.
