Hey everybody! Since there isn't any thread dedicated to the unreleased Sega 32X games here, i thought it would be cool to do one. But for this one i'll need the help of people who are experts in this subject (since this will also work both as a guide and as a list to keep track of them) The titles here were compiled from the various list that are out there. I'll also try to post scan of each title that it's mentioned here :)

    As of August 6th, 2017 there's:

    - 32 Xtreme
    - Golf Magazine: 36 Great Holes Starring Fred Couples (
    CD 32X version)
    - Aftershock
    - A.M.O.K.
    - Alien Trilogy (
this one is a mystery, because it's unknown if development on this version was started)
    - Alien Vs. Predator (
    the kick-ass Capcom arcade game)
    - Alone in the Dark 2 (
    another CD 32X title)
    - Apache
    - B.I.O.S. Fear (
was planned for 3DO and the Atari Jaguar CD as well, all being developed by Zinc Studios)
    - Batman Forever

    - Boogerman: A Pick & Flick Adventure
    - Beyond Zero Tolerance
    - BloodStorm

the sprites of Richter, Maria & Richter's rival are what remains of it for now)
    - ClayFighters 2: Judgement Clay
    - Capital Punishment (
    CD 32X title)
    - College Basketball's National Championship Hosted by Billy Parker
    - Color TV (
    CD 32X title)
    - Converse City Basketball Tour
    - Converse City Hardcore Hoops
    - Cyberwar
    - Clockwork Knight
    - Comix Zone (
most likely a updated port of the Sega Genesis game)
    - Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors (
it was going to be released after the Sega Saturn port. The port was announced at SCES 1994)
    - Darxide (
    the U.S. prototype)
    - Darkside (
    CD 32X title)
    - Die Hard Trilogy
    - Dynamite Headdy (
another updated port of the Genesis title)

    - Destruxor (

most likely a enhanced Genesis port)
    - Jack Nicklaus Golf '95

CD 32X title. Also known as Thayer's Quest)

    - Loadstar: The Legend of Tully Bodine
    - Loadstar 2
    - Maximum Surge (
    CD 32X version)
    - Megalopolice: Tokyo City Battle (
    a tech-demo most likely)
    - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (

most likely a update of the Genesis game)
    - Shadow of Atlantis (
it proably became a CD 32X title after being moved on from the Sega CD. It was known as Nautilus in some previews)
    - Shinobi (
it's most likely that it became Shinobi Legions. Was called Digital Shinobi at one point)

    - Swagman
    - Super Street Fighter II Turbo

Nostalgia overload! Alien vs Predator was one of my childhood holy grails. Searching from arcade to arcade to find this game.

Shinobi Legions? Why have I not played this yet!

I know a lot of these were released on 3DO but unfortunately Sega balls up the 32X :(

Yeah, 32X was sorta like the beginning of the end of Sega's dominance in the console front. It does have good games, yes but it hurted Sega in the end.

I think their downfall was having 2 Sega divisions acting independently from each other. They should have kept their main hq in Japan and developed their market strategy from there.

Here's 2 scans of All Systems Go Technologies' 1994 Press Kit that was sent to the lucky ones who got it. Here it shows B.I.O.S. Fear being mentioned for the 32X CD. Also i'm putting here a scan from EGM that feateured what i think it's either a direct-feed screenshot of Hosenose & Booger or a mock-up title.

I'm curious to know the sources for some of those listed games, as Panzer Dragoon was always intended to be one of several new IP developed to launch with the Saturn (along with Clockwork Knight and Victory Goal/Worldwide Soccer). Saying that, I'm aware of a brief prototype clip in a Japanese promo video that appears to be an early version of Panzer Dragoon running on the 32X, though I suspect it's actually just a tech demo powered by a Silicon Graphics workstation, similar to the earliest "Saturn" footage that was showcased in an issue of the UK Official Sega Magazine under its working title of 3D Shooting Game.

Also, wasn't Daytona USA supposed to be a follow-up to Virtua Racing, using the same Sega Virtua Processor chip? While it's possible development was moved to the 32X, I'd be surprised if this was the case, as screenshots and early footage of AM2's Saturn conversion was already circulating by the time the 32X launched.

A+M+O+K and Scorcher can probably be added to the initial list, since both were seen in very early form as part of the well-known Scavenger tech demo reel, although it's possible these were just intended to present the hardware's capabilities and were only put into full production later for the Saturn, recycling the basic engines for each that already existed as 32X code.

Virtua Fighter and Daytona USA were said to of been planned SVP chip releases until price of putting chip on each cart made it commercially unviable.

Panzer Dragoon 1st shown to UK Press when original Saturn specs released..and known as Flying Dragon Demo.

GTW looked into Alien Trilogy on 32X claims:

    http://www.gamesthatwerent.com/2012...-scream-a-games-that-werent-for-the-sega-32x/

You can find their findings there, as well as game listed on Sega CD, early screens of PS1 AVP if your an Aliens fan.

Between GTW and RetroGamer Magazine, the coders of Saturn and PS1 Alien Trilogy, as well as the games producer, we're all spoken to concerning any possible 32X version..

    screen8_1.jpg Swagman developers don't mention 32X development.

Jeremy Heath-Smith though was a fan of the hardware, saying it was missunderstood and in reality an extremely powerful bit of kit, they just cocked it up a bit...

Full interview with him in EDGE here:

    http://www.core-design.com/interview17.html

Jeremy said Core were working on a total of 5 32X games.

Plus as you can see from the now lost interviews (Site hosting them went down and took interviews with it) i have spoken to a few people from Core design about the 16/32 bit era, as well as PS2 era of development...as have RVG...

    http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/index.php/interviews

Great site and it was a privilege to be part of it (as Rogue Trooper) and be able to put so many Q's to people from the industry, as part of the community interviews, Jamie, if your reading, your a legend my friend..

Fractual Racer can join Swagman and be removed as well...

C+VG's TEKNO Special feature (More From Core Design), Core's PR Lady told them this WAS NOT planned for 32X, but Saturn instead.

She said 32X owners had:Soul Star, BC Racers, Thunderhawk and Tee Off Golf to look forward to (there are 4 of Jeremy's 5 titles) and Saturn owners should look forward to:Fractual Racing, Swagman and Tomb Raider.

Fractual Racer screens that did appear in the press were target renders. Thanks to Unseen64 and Rod_Wod for the images i believe...

Unseen64 also have Shell Shock down as started, no idea of source, only images are an early target render of an A-10 Jet plane. (Rod_Wod again supplying the image)

Dynamite Headdy 32x must have been misinformation or something. Treasure never liked making sequels to their games and I doubt they were going to start doing ports either.

The fact they say they didn't even like the MD game shows they don't know what the hell they're talking about

It could've been another house porting the game to the 32X but who knows...
