We are generally a helpful bunch of people here. I think I have a copy of that game (it's got a girl with big glasses on the cover?), so I will try to dig it out and have a look at it - I suck at shooters, though...

Incidentally, in that screenshot she's having a talk with the shield on the ship :)

I'm trying to launch 4 players mode on a Japanese Dreamcast game "Godzilla Generations". I have 3 controllers connected in the console, but i can't understand where is multiplayer options and stuff... blind search method didn't help. Could somebody help me with that? Most options will start singleplayer mode. Thanks.

The upper screen on the left has one orange circle iwht a ?-mark per player, 3 of them saying "waiting for participation".
(The 1st one says you don't have the special VMU inserted think)
Did you try to push the start button on the other controllers on that screen ?

The bottom right screen: the option in the middle = "battle together" (the 1st option at the top = battle alone)

Yes that's the game. I love those milestone shooters. I've been wanting to understand whats going on in them for a while lol. I Hope to get the game fully translated down the line. Not too hard since 99% of the dialog is in image format. My only barrier is language.

    They are all just katakana:

    1: Rank (ランク RANKU)
    2: Name (ネーム NE-MU)
    3: Score (スコア SUKOA)
    4: Stage (ステージ SUTE-JI)
    5: Item (アイテム AITEMU)

My uneducated guess would be, that this is a letter accompanying a prize/gift given for either some sort of contest, or readers letter sent to Weekly Famitsu magazine. You know the ones, where "if your letter gets published, you will receive a free t-shirt"?

Any way, here is the text of your letter:
    ASCII Corporation

And the translation (rough, I apologize) is:

    ASCII Corporation

Dispensing with preliminaries (or, something along the lines of "Forgive me for dispensing with preliminaries…")

(As usual,) thank you very much for reading "Weekly Famitsu".
From many words (selected from many entries?/responses?) , we are sending you a gift item that was selected (for you).
(Continuing in the future, ) thank you very much from "Weekly Famitsu".
Please write letters to (participate in?) other corner (contests?). We will be expecting you (waiting for you).

    Yours sincerely
ASCII Corporation, "Weekly Famitsu" editorial department.

    Cheers.

Hey guys, could someone please translate this for me? Usually I'm okay with communicating on Yahoo Auctions, but Google translate just spit out utter shit for this one:

    おはようございます。
    この度は落札ありがとうございます。
    よろしくお願いします。
    発送ですが定形外発送、レターパック510.ゆうパックどちらがよろしいでしょうか?
    お振り込みですが郵便局、信用金庫どちらがよろしいでしょうか?
    私の住所ですが埼玉県さいたま市桜区栄和5-5-12 〒3380823 大野哲義です。
    よろしくお願いします。

From what I understand he's asking which method I want to pay by, but I don't understand what he means by either of the methods listed. Usually I can just pay via bank transfer or 'Yahoo simple settlement'. I also don't understand why he's put his address...

That first one basically says "know the location of all the treasure on this floor"

That second one basically says "know the location of all enemies on this floor"

Might be wrong... im still learning :p

    Thank you.
Might be. I will check out.

However if it's really what they do: "What useless pieces of crap!".
Dungeons and enemies are quite easy (at least for now) so they don't have much usefulness.
I'm going to sell them all in the town!

    (1) Choose between Letterpack 510 and You-pack for shipping.
    (2) Choose between post office/bank and Shin'yō-kinko for bank transfer.

It's been a while since I bought anything on YA but maybe one of the two options requires you to put his full address on the form and that's why he's written it. Or it's just to build more trust.

Thanks! So when he says post office, does he mean a bank transfer to a Japan Post account?

EDIT: Got it guys, I just asked if I could do a bank transfer. Thanks!

I know I'm a double posting sinner, but if I just edit my above post it won't bump the thread. Here's some other stuff I would like to be translated please:

    業務用ファミコンボックス用ビジターキー 1本です。
    送料は、164円
    ジャンク扱い、樹脂の部分に変形があります キ-としての使用は問題ありません

It's on an auction for what I believe is a key to a Famicom Box/Famicom Station, is that correct?

    Looks like it

Business use FamicomBox "Visitor key" Qty. 1
    Shipping is 164JPY
This is "Junk" because the plastic part of the key is deformed - operation as a key is not affected.

I assume the "visitor key" is the one that operates the power switch rather than the one the opens the front panel.

Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu (Baseball) game-series.

    Two questions.

    - What is Kaimakuban and Ketteiban?

    Such as,
Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2000 Kaimakuban
Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2000 Ketteiban

    - Are the same games?
