I have a Japanese notebook with a PCMCIA slot. Is it safe to remove the cards? You've taught me a lot within the past few days, and you know I'm not a techy. I'd hate to mess anything up.

It's safe to remove the cards, they're just FlashROM. Even with a PCMCIA slot on your notebook, I don't think it will be easy. I'd go with the Neo/Uni-BIOS approach myself.

Any more pictures of the front and sides? Although do you think you could make your watermark bigger, I don't think the people in the space station can read it.

Mmmm.... regarding AES, perhaps some of the most valuable carts...

Both Magical Drop (II and III), Overtop, Ultimate 11.... all japanese AES versions.

Also for MVS, some loose carts (Strikers 1945 Plus, Prehistoric Isle 2...).

Related to hardware, the MVS CONVERTER II (blue led), and a modified Neo Geo AES with Unibios 2.3 in a slot AND overclocking switch (so you can play to the Metal Slug games with no or minor slowdown).

What are the chanced one of these could be duplicated if high res scans of the PCB were released?

It's not practical to duplicate it exactly but to get the identical functionality nothing more is necessary, there's a standard NGPC ASIC and FPGA with a frame of memory. The FPGA watches the LCD bus, puts pixels in RAM while simultaneously pulling pixels out of the RAM formatted suitably for a SDTV.

Hi Mike, Shito here that nickname was not accepted by this board registration system though).
As you may know, I'm an owner of a complete NEOGEO Japanese software and hardware collection (including all different boxes of any peripheral), complete NEOGEO FREAK mag collection, complete unreleased AES converts collection (all made with original MVS chips, no boot nor burned EPROMS), any released 'proto' coversion.

Among these, there are indeed rare carts, yet the most rare Neo items I own, the ones I'm the most proud of, are some very selected memorabilias such as the Japanese original store flag and street sign from the NEOGEO rental days, plus the very rare original Japanese blue padded Deluxe Neo carring bag, and a whole collection of not-for-sale 'premium' telephone card originally given with AES releases.

Here are some pics of the two items (not my pics, though):

They're certainly BNC connectors. I'd be very surprised if they weren't RGBS.

    So jealous ;)

I have almost nothing neo geo related.
My "rarest" stuff would be the couple pony canyon VHS I have (not rare but I don't see them too oftenly)

I'm only a newbie, but I have an early sub 2000 serial "Puzzle Bobble 2" green cart, original shock box, marquis and original stickers intact. Quite chuffed with that. :)

They go for about 180-400$ on fleabay ..this one was local and being dumped for 20$ .. bargain!

    Playing it to death.
