I don't know if this would go in this forum or in the modding forum, but I'm putting it here because I'm directing it at the xbox community.

I want to see your xbox mods and customizations. I'm hoping to see something new and cool or useful that I haven't seen before. I'm hoping to see some mods that I can apply to my own machines. Personally I don't have to much going on with my rigs, I've got myself a X3 CE modded box with the Xecuter control panel faceplate with a XIR kit installed in it for remote power on. Also a second xbox that I recently modded with a Xenium chip with a controller I modded with a power button that works with controller port 1 and custom painted the jewel black.

Dang, that image is impressive how it goes behind the jewel. How did you do that?? Also would you mind linking me to where I can find blue leds to change my light ring like that? Both those machines look great!

    Here is my x3 box

I pretty much just removed the jewel with floss, then removed the sticky foam backing and placed art vinyl in that spot and stuck the jewel on top. Nothing too much involved with that.

With the LEDs, they are just from eBay. Nothing special is required for it. Apart from 100k resistor.

Ohhhh im so glad this thread has been made as im currently modding a console shell.
also regarding lights i have some original XCM lights they are like a very thin about 1mm fibre optic wire that completley lights up and you can shape it around anything all wired up and just plugs in when you get a power splitter.

i would like a full XCM shell though.

also what is the best paint to use on the shell that is durable and gives a good finish?
i was thinking of getting it properly done by a car repair garage or stove enameled

i have 2 blue and 2 green if anybody needs one

Yes and do not do what i done , and pry it off with a screw driver.
the floss will cut through the black sticky stuff the same used to fit car badges , you can also freeze the lid but unless you have a chest freezer it is not viable.

I find it a great shame a crystal xbox was dismantled in such a way but I have to admit that it looks great! I've thought of doing that to a standard black xbox and just paint it up nice but yours came out very nice!

Yea dental floss actually works really well at removing the jewel without marking up the top of the xbox like prying with a screwdriver does. It's the method I use to remove mine all the time. :)

A little WD-40 around the jewel will eat away the adhesive foam making the dental floss easier to cut through it to remove without causing an iota of damage.

Those are interesting, what would you want for one of those green ones? I might be interested. Send me a pm when you have a chance!

I've been seeing a lot of "Halo" xbox's lately without the Halo decal in the corner, was it polished off or was there some "Halo Green" xbox's released without the Halo decal?

Huh! I had no idea, I always thought people were being stupid when they listed a supposed "Halo Edition xbox" on ebay or the like and it had no Halo decal in the corner. Figured it was always a aftermarket faceplate or something. Good to know :)

Just had a go the other night at a xbox USB adapter. Not very good because I couldn't find my dremel and I couldnt quite figure out how to open the end of the breakaway cable without brute force but it came out alright for my first try I suppose :D

I find the official keyboard adapter works quite well for that sort of thing, harder to find in the US though I guess :p
