Yes, we can now add Serious Sam to the list of commercial games that have had their source code released! SS joins Doom 1, 2, and 3, Duke Nukem 3D, Alien vs. Predator, Shadow Warrior 3D, Quake 1, 2, and 3, and a couple of other games that are now compilable to run on non-native machines. They're releasing the source code to celebrate the game's fifteen anniversary: Source: https://github.com/Croteam-official/Serious-Engine http://www.pcgamer.com/croteam-releases-source-code-to-serious-sam-engine/ http://www.croteam.com/serious-sam-source-code-released/
This is exciting. I'm sure there are a fair share of developers who would love to tinker around with the code. I'm anticipating lots of cool mods. Also, somewhat unrelated, a Serious Sam IV would be nice.
Definitely not off topic. General gaming is fine.. think I'll move this to file downloads, though! Thanks for the heads up!
