San Francisco Rush: The Rock was released for PC in a bundle with a Banshee video card, long time ago, and it have some kind of "hardware lock".

This version have the hardware check removed by a fellow member of the board.

It still requires a 3dfx card or a glide wrapper.

It's in BIN/CUE format with the original audio in CD/DA format.

I want to thank Frank for giving me a copy of the game, WindowsKiller for removing the hardware check and rottentreats for helping and for putting this all together.

Please help seed as my upload speed is slooooow as hell.

    To the admins:
This game is old and very hard to find. I don't see a problem releasing it here. But if there's any problem, please delete this post.

Very nicely done! Here is another link - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N9RX8CVF

    Installation Instructions -

1.) Mount image or burn disc. [to hear the music the virutal drive letter needs needs to first, of all your optical drives]

2.) Copy files from the "Cracked Exes" folder to installation directory overwriting existing files. This will bypass the hardware check. [Game originally required a 16MB Quantum3D Raven Videocard]

3.) Skip this step if you are using a 3dfx videocard:
Install the included glide wrapper [GlideWrapper084c.exe] if you don't already have one. [needed to emulate the Glide API that the Raven videocard used]

4.) Enjoy! :) [this works great with an xbox360 controller]

*** It is recommended that you run this in Compatability mode for 98/ME. ***

I get music using daemon tools.
My virtual drive is the first and my dvd-rom is the last drive.
Maybe it search for the music in the first disc drive.

The CD-ROM issue was common with the older Tomb Raider games as well. Has someone to do with redbook audio I believe, could be wrong on this though.

So was the only way to own San Francisco Rush: The Rock Alcatraz Edition was to buy this graphics card? I miss the days of 3DFX. Kind of wish I held on to my Voodoo 3 3000 and 4 4500 PCI cards.

Ok so I built a rig with a Voodoo5 just to try this out. :)

    Problems....

    1) Incompatible with Win9x. I thought this would be the best OS for the game but it gives out some sort of ddraw.dll error when I try to run the game.
    2) Daemon Tools seems incompatible with the image. During the install process, it craps out with an unreadable file error. Burned CD = fine.

Installed XP now and am using the latest Amigamerlin drivers (2005). The game starts fine but it runs at about 1 fps. Curious.

But it does work fine with the Glide Wrapper on my main PC.

    Try installing directx.

For people having problems installing the mounted the image, you can just mount it and copy the game folder to your HDD. No need to use the game's installer.

EDIT: Apparently if I would have read the whole thread I would have answered my question before posting. :banghead:

Is there anyway to get a direct download of this, there is nobody seeding the torrent anymore...

    Are you using this one?

I tried some wrappers. This one works better for this game.

So I finally got a chance to setup this one up and I noticed a few differences in this version. I'm comparing this to the Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe on PC.

1.) The cars don't have a reflection (yet the n64 and deluxe PC have them)

2.) Sounds seem to be messed up. (bumping into a wall or vehicle sounds like an explosion)

The plus over the MAT Deluxe version is that you aren't locked to a low resolution. Such a shame cause that could have been the better version but the released version is by far the better option to get higher resolutions. Hoping the next nGlide release supports this game since it allows 16:10 resolutions. But for now the include wrapper works great.
