[PS2] POPS stuff & POPStarter

    Oh. I guess it's okay to leave it visible. Another question, is there a way to write into the header of a partition using the PS2 itself? I mean without using HDL Dump or a PC. My PS2 is at home and I don't have a PC there now to write into the header.

    Might be interesting to note: Parasite Eve on PSP POPS black screens on the ending credits as well with a custom made EBOOT (at least when I played it years ago). The PSOne Classics version managed to fix it. Possibly related, possibly unrelated.

    there is any way to improve the graphics of Gran turismo 2 on Popstarter ?

    Hello, Tomba! 2 has an issue that prevents the music to loop. Whenever the song finishes this wont loop but insted play music from other levels and it sounds horrible, any idea of how to fix this? At first i thought the problem was because of the 2 .bin files + cue file... went ahead and converted it with PSXVCD to one single .bin... that didnt solve the problem.

    This problem is also present on PS3, on PS CLASSIC Mini and some emulators on my PC, however it has been fixed somehow on the "ePSXe" emulator, any ideas? also the issue is NOT present on the PS3 "PKG" version of the game... it tries to do the same but for two seconds and then restarts the song... better than nothing....

    Help please, im really going crazy over this issue. Will post a video about it.

    I have never gotten Bluetooth to work.

    Has anyone ever saw when you create a __.POPS partition the ps2 will no longer allow you to go to browser?(Hung Black Screen) After you reset the PS2 and go into ule, delete that partition, vuala you have browser back?
    I used the HD ule to create the partition, I also earlier testing used ule to format the drive, used winhiip to do the same. I've done a crap load of stuff back and forth trying to figure out why the ps2 won't display the browser once a __.POPS partition is created. Do I need to get rid of browser 2.0? I'm trying to hang onto it as I have a few apps that load directly from hdd.

    Sounds like you're using a 28bit HDD OSD with a HDD that's too large.
    If so, reinstall the HDDOSD from the SUDC4 CD to get rid of the black screen of death.

    Toxis OS option in wiiinhip with ext compatibility. using a 750gb seagate. Would make sense, that is one thing I have not tried yet. I'm gonna give that a whirl here and see what comes of it. Thank you

    I need to finally check at least these USB drivers.
    Anyway, soon assemblergames will be closed (~28\06\2019).
    Do you have any preferred external site\forum that we can submit our reports,
    if somehow something will be wrong.

    That's exactly what it was. Never crossed my mind of it to be 28bit osd restriction.:confused: Had to format the hdd with your ule HD first otherwise it would hang, once I did that it worked and I'm testing now and its good to go :D Now to get my apps back on to the hdd to directly launch from it, I cannot get my hands on Doormat, any leads? ShaolinAssassin's post (tutorial) on using the kelf for popstarter on hddosd the process for it?

    20150413_PSX_PS2_DNAS_NODVD.ZIP (For DVR XMB, CEX and DEX PS2. This is a dnasload header clone. Will not allow DVDV read.)

    Sidenote regarding wLE_kHn_20190605,
    - Its FTP does not work.
    - selecting a text file in the browser errors out instead of opening the text editor.

    It seems that everything is fine with POPStarter_20190605.
    I mean, I do not have any additional problems in few tested games.
    Mostly I was testing FMV to notice if there was any stuttering.

    Unfortunately I do not have currently time to also test wLE_kHn_20190605.

    No. PFS_WRAP was embedded to the POPStarter ELF when the SMB mode was implemented.
    POPStarter does not load the external PFS_WRAP.BIN anymore.

    By the way, I saw your post @ psx-place about $480p and debug texts. Did you fix the problems somehow ?
    I didn't encounter such bugs when I quickly tried the proto before posting it, and I've no idea what would cause $480p to be permanently activated (other than with CHEATS.TXT in POPS folder) and debug texts not showing up (other than bad config table offset patch).

    Also, when using POPStarter with wLE_kHn_20190605, you can enable debug texts by pressing R3 to launch a VCD. I cannot remember what speed value it pokes, but I made it very slow on purpose, so users can see/note/take a photo of the things they want...

    Yes i got it fixed. I was trying to use // to comment the $480p but POPStarter was ignoring the // so I put an underscore in the code

    I used to configure debug delay with toolbox via command prompt

    Code:
    toolbox.exe -dbgdelay POPSTARTER.ELF
    Maybe toolbox lost its effectiveness with this new POPSTARTER.ELF from this month?
    I will start to use the R3 method with wLE kHn now....

    KrHACKen, is the work on compatibility with PS1 games going on? And are you working on improving the POPs loader?
