The DTL-T10000 manual seems to have one less line within the unit feature section than the one that I have (for the DTL-T10000H J), but my Japanese is very weak and I don't think that I can give a good translation.

It's written as 「いろいろなPCカードを使用できるPC CARD差込口を装備しています」, which I think means something along the lines of "It has a PC CARD slot that can support various PC cards". So it's possible that this thing supports generic PCMCIA cards as well, I suppose?

Also, the manuals both say that the "WorkStation" mode is for stand-alone development on the TOOL, but it comes without the necessary software installed by default. Does anyone have a TOOL that can go into WS mode, when WS mode is selected (via that selector switch on its front) before the unit is switched on?

If so, doesn't this mean that it was always possible to develop PlayStation 2 software on the TOOL itself? Even at the end of its lifespan? Except that it wasn't doable out-of-the box.

The above link is broken, but I found two more below (I think they have the same contents); here I share them, for the interested ones:

As far I know, the runtime library releases have documentation in both Japanese and English. Most people trading the files are not Japanese and don't think twice to simply delete the Japanese .PDF and HTML files to save space.

Are there any particular release of the Runtime libraries you're interested on? Or just want a complete one?

I had a look on what I have and apparently SCEI had already stopped shipping Japanese documents on SDK 3.0 to non Japanese developers.

Japanese doc for release 2.0 would help?

I only re-uploaded a few because everything that was listed on the first page. You can grab from the third page all thanks to pool7. As for DTL-S4023 - PlayStation 2 Technical Reference CD September 2001 you can kindly ask Unclejun for a copy via pm.

    DTL-T10000 Development Tool Operating Instructions
    DVD-ROM Block Adjustment JIG
    Serial Label Operating Standard

Credit belongs to SilverBull for previously uploading those three files and Nemesis for
    re-uploading them awhile back.

Thank you sliverbull and pool7 for archiving and sharing these important files with all of us.

Thanks Shuji; I just double-checked and indeed most of the mediafire links ins this thread seem to remain available (after such long time!)
If anything's missing, let me know and I'll see if I have a link or can reup somewhere.

Sorry for the revival but this looks like an appropriate thread to post this in:
The 70k service manual linked here (and easily found on the web) is for the GH-035 motherboard which has the combined EE+GS chip. My slim however is one of the very first models (GH-032) which still has discrete EE and GS chips.
Does anyone have a service manual for that board?

Actually, the first slims had EE+GS chips on them. Because SONY had to get rid of the stock they built thinking the PSX DVR would be such a success (it did flop). GH-035 was likely designed in a rush and released before GH-032. It is what you find on USA PS2 slims with built in analog modem. Since GH-032 came up later, it has the "servo driver muting" fix which protects the optical pickup coils from frying and is found on US PS2 units without analog modem.

The default password for all files is " @ASSEMblergames!com" (without quotes).
Don't forget the space before the @.
