I originally put this in the computer gaming forum, but I realized it might go better here.

So, I have this old Tony Hawk disc that was sent to my dad to try out during the mid-2000's. Once he was done and took a survey on it, they let him keep it. From what I remember, there's a Tony Hawk game beta on the disc. From what I can see on the disc's files, it's in the Underground series and there's a "THUG" installer. I would try it out on the computer, but part of the Game Code has been lost, and it needs a Pinecone Research User ID and Email. All that remains of the game code on the label is "1hibt". Perhaps someone could find the code and we'd be able to see what's inside?

Uploading now, it'll be a few hours before it's done, though. My upload speed is horribly slow at 1mbps

Alright, link is in the original post.

    1. manually copy folder "Activision" from ISO to c:/program files (x86)/
    2. run Launcher.exe
done. tested on win 7 x64. The game freezes on loading screen for me.

Tried it on Windows 10 Anniversary x64, freezes on loading for me, too. No error messages, it just freezes. Running Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode and running as admin doesn't change anything, either.

Wanted to play Forza 6 and Halo 5... Not that that they were playable on my what should have been fairly capable computer... So now I'm too lazy to downgrade.

Because they're still supported and have regular updates, and because they've been installed on all computers you buy in the store for the past 4 years (aka a "modern" computer). It may not be the best choice for dealing with old software, but not everybody has an old PC.

You have been warned about your behaviour several times before and refuse to moderate it. Stop abusing other member's. Just because your beliefs differ, doesn't mean you have the right to attack people for their thoughts. You need to learn to act in a socially acceptable manner in polite company. This isn't a school playground - grow up and act your age. Have a time out.

We aren't going to keep babysitting you. Any further unacceptable behaviour will result in a longer ban.

I wouldn't exactly call that attacking. He was just expressing his distaste for newer windows OS's. If he said "You're an idiot for using 10", then it would be attacking.

EDIT2 IMPORTANT: There appears to be a virus on this disk!
EDIT3: Seems to be a false postive: https://virustotal.com/en/file/a21d...58ae542367c79f494b04f15a/analysis/1476049126/

It's rather odd this game came out in 2003 but the exe on disk is from 2007.

EDIT: These files seem interesting but they don't exist,
    These were in qdir.txt

Probably a false positive. It never gave any trouble when we first recieved the disc.

Seems to crash because its calling home to 72.3.184.153 during runtime. That ip has restricted access does it pass along the additional details you're asked to enter (Email Address/PineCone Research ID) into the installer as args of some kind to access the system? This seems like a custom demo product at the moment, still quite the interesting anomaly.

It was a CD sent to my dad to test out, so it might be to send gameplay data to the company as you're playing it.

I doubt there's a chance of this anymore. If it does send data it would send to a non-existent destination.

Now Windows 10 builds on the other hand...

That was not asking a simple question. It was rude. It was attacking the member for their choice. Accept that you did something wrong, apologize and move on.

Argue with staff one more time and you're gone. We don't have time for your petty arguments and insults.
