Well what about that CD that came with your Devkit? Is anything significant on these cd's that both of you recieved with your devkits, or is it just something the seller threw in with the deal?

The CD that came with my devkit was labeled "System Shock 2" but was so scratched (on both sides) that there was no chance of ever reading it at all.

Just wanted to post a major thanks for releasing the files! Regardless of their early status, it is still an important piece of development history. You're a better man than myself for releasing it like that :p

Basil, what does your directory structure look like? It should have the "WinCE" in the root directory (ensure it contains all of the files in the WinCE folder from the archive). 0winceos.bin, Shock2.exe and all of the game files go in the root directory alongside the WinCE folder.

Also, ensure the IP.BIN file is trying to load 0winceos.bin instead of 1st_read.bin.

Yeah , it works now as you described . I converted 0winceos.bin to 1st_read.bin and i confirm it has long loadning time .

Thanks guys for sharing these files, even though by reading the last pages, it looks like, unfortunately not much more can be done at that stage..

If i was to make a selfboot image which shock 2 exe should i use? i noticed theres like 3 of them with dates around 7/5/2000,8/28/2000, or 10/15/2000? the 2 last ones are the smaller archive systemshock2gd.Also the smaller archive has ops1.mis do i use that?

The July EXE doesn't contain support for the opening SFD movies, the main menu or controller input for the 359KB ops1.mis file. The other two support those features, but I'm unsure of any differences between them.

The ops1.mis file in the SystemShock2GD archive is the same as the one in the full archive. The same is true for the 857KB ops1__.mis and the ops1 file in test.7z.

just a might be stupid question, where to find ip.bin and 1st_read.bin, or they weren´t created

and i wonder why repeated folders, with same files and sizes.

You answer is in your question . Yes , you have to convert 0winceos.bin to 1st_read.bin and create ip.bin then make selfboot image . But at this time i can see no reason of doing that . It is still almost unplayable .
    What folders ?

all D1S1/2Tx, with track2_english.pcm, with exception of D1S2T5 which contains the game, but also has repeated folders with same files in WCEdreamcast, retail, the folders are cd and CD_SHOCK2.

even its almost unplayable, it would be nice to see running.

well, i have found 2 ip.bin with ip bin writer

    ip at byte 3319809

    name of the software

THIS IS A SAMPLE DISK FOR USE IN THE OFFICE ONLY DO NOT SELL DO NOT CARRY OUT FROM THE OFFICE

    name of the company

    SEGA LC-T-00

it would have used the keyboard and the gun too.

month 08, day 30, year 1999, some games were released in usa a week before the dreamcast i am right?

    product id

    T0000M

    product version

    0.800

ip bin at byte 3276801 is the same.

ok, now i ve extracted the ip.bin, there is no mr logo, according to the program.

No, the game is still, and will most likely remain, unplayable.

Pato, where did those IP.bins come from?

I found that data buried inside one of the files I opened with a hex editor. Don't recall which one but I can start checking if necessary.

When I googled it it apparently is in many, many GD-R type betas.

used ahcohol 120% and made a mds file, and put 0winceos in the root, like normal dreamcast games.

then i ve used the the ip extractor, and found 2, possibly because the are repeated folders, cd and cd_SHOCK2 with 0winceos.bin

what happens if i deleted one of these folders?

Making a bootable disc with all of the files from the archive as they are in the archive won't work. I'm guessing that because the IP.BIN file(s) you found are from the *.VDS files GD-Workshop creates when you run a project from the hard drive (so the Katana can boot a game in emulation mode without a PC).

Refer to this post for the files / structure needed to create a bootable disc. The "game files" part is referring to the GDROM folder.
