possible hacks maybe on the USB side of things, or even a game update utill from Nintendo in the works??

Holding reset and plugging in the console (with power off) causes a different thing..

    UPDATE:

Let's wait and see what the OS source code can tell us.

Interesting. I was wondering if someone was going to attempt connecting it to a PC via USB.

1F3A is FEL mode for Allwinner chips.
You can use official tools like Livesuit or Phoenix tools to flash the NAND.
Or, you can use Sunxi-tools to upload/dump anything you want.

One can upload a custom u-boot, load a custom Kernel, and dump data through the USB port.

Even if you can dump the NAND, there's a high chance it'll be encrypted in some fashion. Either way, good luck. :)

I can't make the quote erase unless I post something I guess. Just letting you know I posted this in neogaf for you. In case you didn't have an account there. I know it can take months to get an account sometimes.

Try it in a Leenicks VM. The linux-sunxi tools will run natively there.

So if you installed linux, would you need a multi usb port to plug in a keyboard, mouse, connect it to the computer, charge it? all at once?

Someone on reddit who works with allwinner chips says that there will be hacks in no time.

Said that the pin for flashing is there and that that is how they probably load the games at the factory.

You should expect clones with hundreds of nes games on them soon.

wouldn't even need to be a proper clone, just a allweiner based system in a nes housing, doesn't even need to be the same specs really..

they churned out those AIO VR headsets in a few weeks and they can run an nes emulator fine, infact one of those pcbs would fit in the mini..
