Portal. And, maybe, Braid?
Oh and can't forget about Minceraft of course.
Elly losing her shit on that dude's face..... you know THAT Scene.
The last battle in the hospital.
The ending. AHHHHHHHHHHH!
I had this super interesting experence over the summer where it was me, a Friend who was 25, and a 17 year old high school senior talking games at a BBQ and we all talked about what systems we grew up on. For me of course NES, SNES Genesist, My Friend Alex the 25 year old, said Playstation, N64 ect was what he grew up on, his younger brother figured the Gamecube was his nostalgia.
With that as our baseline, Modern gaming would be PS360 and beyond.
Yup =P Anything else seems like a hollow imitation.
The last game I bought on release was Half life 2. Not sure if it fits your criteria of "modern" but that whole franchise hits every single one of my buttons.
I haven’t played Skyrim yet. Also forgot about botw. I guess it’s just been so long since Nintendo had something so good.
Team Fortress 2 will go on forever I think.
Debating finally playing Skyrim and doing so on switch
Fuck I hope not.
Why not? It's a nice game and the style makes it timeless. I hate the hat thing though.
The hat thing is mostly why. Also because it's played mostly by 12 year olds and younger, and the fact that Valve doesn't seem to care about weapon balancing anymore doesn't help.
Demon’s and Dark Souls
And this is why the Yakuza Series has become my favorite.
I can see why people say it's the spiritual successor to Shenmue. I was half-expecting the guy to ask around about sailors.
I think it's better than Shenmue. Combat is smoother, Characters actually have personality. The story is amazing and some of the boss fights are EPIC.
Spoiler: Like the final boss in Yakuza 5'
I've been hooked on Let It Die, it's tough as hell and can be grindy, but nonetheless a lot of fun. The game vaguely gives me the feeling I'm in an odd Japanese version of Schwarzenegger's The Running Man
I actually got Yakuza 5 for free on PS3 awhile back. I put a few hours in, and so far it’s cool
My favourite part about Yakuza 0 so far is whenever Kiryu is learning a new move, after he sees it for the first time it just zooms in on his face and he says "That's rad!".
Running the club with Majima is mine.
