I have the digital gdis. I think I grabbed them a while back because they seemed hard to find.

I know I at least have the first couple, can't remember if I got all 6 though.

Yeah all the previous instructions said was to pop in and start the disc, at the title screen press L trigger+R trigger+Start which should bring up that slick menu, then you should be able to switch to any of the other discs.

    Editte:
It's not working for me, but I'm not trying it on real hardware so I'm not surprised.
So you load in that VM data disc, and write the save file to a VMU. Then you're supposed to pop in disc 6 and do the rest.

Here's what saving the file to the VMU looks like
    disc-181021-020317.png disc-181021-020327.png disc-181021-020336.png disc-181021-020404.png

Also my MIL-CD images totally work under demul.

i have skeletons made for 2 images, and they can be remade with new files and it works flawlessly.

brand new, modified special purpose mkisofs was written for it, and it all just works

    here ya go:
Image: Could be burned, (no harm in doing so, but not really that exciting, 3 audio tracks and 1 somewhat broken video)
    https://www.mediafire.com/file/ytml...ustom,_from_scratch_Mil-CD_since_SEGA.7z/file

    Videos:

tools and a writeup to follow, it's NOT automatic, and NOT one click. its also not difficult, just have to go through each step at a time.
Also if anyone has any hints on SFD encoding, i'd love to know! all the ones i create are awful.

Wow this is legit as hell! I am really excited to see what can be done with this. I would love the prospect of turning the DC into a little media machine!

Slightly off topic, but I know one of the last updates to DCPlaya 2.0 had support for SD cards through the serial port, but I wonder if we could have any uses for that from GDEMU?

    Great success! Knowledge is power!

I'm looking forward to making the most awful bootleg MIL-CDs using VHS rips. I think I might have some notes about SFD encoding somewhere but I think they're just inherently terrible anyway.

The originals aren't bad, mpeg-1 video at 5000KB/s bitrate. I haven't been able to get ffmpeg to do that for me, also the resulting sfd is still compared to originals

I have a dumb question, now that we have things like GDEMU is it possible to create a CDI with larger videos? I'd love to watch some animes on my Dreamcast LoL!

I think you can build it by yourself because there is no .iso in the downloadable pack.

You have to build an .iso or .cdi each time you chnage your music I guess.

yes, instructions coming in order to make themself. i just need to write it up and thats my least favorite part of stuff.

The only limit would be the 4gb filesize limit in fat32, but yes, we can have images up to 4gb. This is great to have for emulator and homebrew compilation discs where the cdr limitations can be surpassed.

I remember most of the VCD movies were very pixelated maybe because it had to be very compressed to fit in a CD-R. Would be nice to test something without this limitation!

You might want to look at my SFD KVCD pack, here, for SFD encoding with great quality at low bitrate for Dreamcast. Would also work for mpeg1/m1v with minimal modification.

Note: If you got an error like unrecognized option '-intermatrix', just change -intermatrix to -inter_matrix in the line where it's set. Same goes for "intramatrix".

Any idea how to do high bitrate?
    Like 5000KB/s?
