I think CRI * CRAFT tool contain kind of universal code inside.
open crfgdc.exe (ver 2.32 from R10 or R11 SDK) in hex editor then change value at 47Ah from 01 to 07, this should switch it into MIL-mode.
btw, there is more modes supported, full list is:
    Code:
    mode_str <1, offset aCriCdCraft>; 1
    mode_str <2, offset aDupligd>; 2
    mode_str <3, offset aHcd2cim>; 3
    mode_str <4, offset aAfsbld>; 4
    mode_str <10h, offset aGdWorkshop>; 5
    mode_str <6, offset aConvfmtgd>; 6
    mode_str <7, offset aCriMilCraft>; 7
    mode_str <5, offset aRcmbld>; 8

you must create script file for your disk, instead of "Gd imagename" .... "EndGd" should be used "Milcd imagename" "EndMilcd", don't know if there is more differences or special commands needed, try to find out it by yourself ;)

welcome, but it looks like its not done yet. in attempt to build script it say "CD CRAFT mode : CD CRAFT" and wont accept Milcd commands, so it looks like there is more "work mode" constant(s) hardcoded somewhere.

@Mrneo240 is there any kind of PVR file on the root of any of the CDs you've come across? im sure you know but for legit DC discs there's the 0GDTEX.PVR file that displays an image of the disc in the BIOS CD player. if there is a mil-cd equivalent we could update CDI releases with the intended PVR files

    yeah, that would be awesome!
I'd re-burn my releases just to display that picture.

There isn't and specifically the code in the bios to read those only has a single code path for discs of type gd-rom

It's not so easy to do a perfect dump of these afaik since Mil-CDs are multi session.

I dont think discjuggler corrects audio right offset but that's probably not important for what you guys are interested in. We've been looking at Mil CDs at redump recently so it will all be redone eventually for a proper set.

So the purpose of this thing is, to dump and re-burn official MIL-CD releases right?
e.g. Dump the original music discs and get them to boot from CD-R right?

    Nah.

It's a way to make brand new never before seen/existed mil-cds that function identical to the legit mil-cds.

There is no official Linkin Park mil-cd. I own the only copy because i made it by hand.

I honestly don't think this project is going to go anywhere though or be released. I was never able to build cdr-tools on Windows and I'm not a fan of cygwin so unless someone volunteers or figures that out IDK. If that does happen, I have plenty of notes and tools that could be used by anyone.

Or if some sly boi writes a tool to delete 2 sectors from an iso9660 image and then correct the offsets then that would lead to the same thing.

Step the next would be figuring out what the hell is going on with 1MILSFD.BIN and why it either has protections never before seen or it's packed or ??????

The issue being you can take all the files from the data session of any actual mil-cd, copy them. Rip the original ip.bin and rebuild the iso with the exact same files and everything is untouched but yet no worky worky. Riddle me that!

Also not to mention the files that are purposefully corrupted and point to incorrect sectors, (also present on cd-plus images, can anyone find more of these? They are a huge pain to find on the internet. I only found like 4 and I lost the link and filenames so that would be huge too).

The strange padding present on almost all of them. The weird file ordering which isn't valid and you get some strange format which there's literally no docs on except for what I've written and it's a very bleak open landscape.
