The public release to Midtown Madness Beta 1 was a data dump from a disc. Which means the DRM required the CD. An data ISO was not enough for the check to pass. There must have been some extra data, or a track on the disc to pass. Anyway, I have patched the executable through brute force. You can launch the game without the DRM. Game launches and runs with great stability, can see below captures. Beta 2 was patched a long long time ago to pass the DRM but it's a very buggy patch which I'll work on a better one for that too soon. Tested on Windows 2000 Professional Workstation (Virtual Machine). Game render (Software). Have to get my old machine out and try it through Hardware (T&L). If someone beats me to it, post your result. Alternatively, you can try Bad_Ad84's patch which removes the date restriction here Hope this can help many who had the DRM road block.
