Yes I think you could be right. I will pick up a few because I want to learn how to make my own projects.
    Thanks for your time.
I will let you know how I get on when they arrive.

Replaced the Arduino today. All working perfectly now. Amazing work. Thanks
Must have been that incorrect wiring diagram that broke the other one.

Glad it worked! Yep, you have connected an output pin straight to 5V and when it tried to force it to 0V the short-circuit must have killed the output transistor.

Luckily Arduinos are cheap, clones at least ;).

Hello does this mod also work on the mega drive 2 ?

I only see the mod with a 12f630 on the wiki.
    Not with the nano :)

Yes, the wiki uses images from the Seb mod, read it more carefully.

    Hello,

I flashed a nano with the code, had some problems with my Chinese knockoffs.
first had to burn the boot loader, and after I could upload the sketch.

I installed it in my Sega Mega Drive II but having some problems.

I removed the reset button like stated, lifted the two bottom legs, and soldered in the button only with the two top
    pins,

on the Nano, we have reset in and reset out, where do the two wires go too ?
To both of the lifted legs ?

Also do I need a three or four legged led ? and how do I connect them ?
hope someone can help me, if I get this running I can make some high resolution pictures for on the wiki, to make it
a little bit easier for people like me. :)

Reset in goes to only one of the bottom legs, out goes to the aqua dot in the picture. I think instructions are pretty clear, let me know if I can improve them.

You can use any led you want, 2-, 3- or 4- legged, provided that you set the colors correctly in the code. The comments should also help in this case, let me know if you need any clarifications.

If you lifted the bottom legs, didn't solder it to the right pin, or didn't solder reset out where it's supposed to, it won't work :).

    Hello @SukkoPera
I got it all working, except for the led. I have a two colour led, red and blue.
The middle pin is connected to the left hole of the original led, with a 120 ohm resistor.
the left and right leg are connected to D9 and D10 at the moment.

When I switch region, the blue and red ones work, but the third region the light goes off

I have looked at the code but I can't make it out. is there a way to make both lights go on so I get a combination of the two colours ?

    Thanks again.

    Try changing line 140 to:

    #define MODE_LED_USA_COLOR {0xFF, 0xFF, 0x00}

hey @SukkoPera, I tried it and it is working, but no I just get red, blue red.
I have the wires from D9 and D10 to the two legs of the LED, the long leg has the resistor and goes into the left hole of the old led.
Could it be the led does not support the two colours at ones ?

I also tried a 4 pin multi colour let but it does not work at all. :(

I think the problem is the single resistor. You should remove it and have two separate ones, one per shorter leg.

I'm not sure, but maybe you can just add two small ones (10R?) to the shorter legs and leave the other one in place.

So it worked, lol, I just threw it there without much thinking. Glad it works though!

I'll add your picture to the wiki if you agree. Someone asked for such a pic right yesterday, what a coincidence ;).
