Just got back from spending some time with the former Vice President of Interactive Media Systems for Philips and ended up getting a whole bundle of stuff. Some things of particular interest:

    - A HUGE lot of demo games, some unreleased, also a Zelda's Adventure red demo disc.
    - An unreleased wireless trackball controller
    - A Sega Justifier gun modified and run through a converter box to work on a 3DO. This is a precursor of the released Peacekeeper.
    - A boat load of CDI discs used at various conventions, shows, and meetings, with demos, tech info, and advertising/marketing information.
    - Several systems and maybe 150 retail games/videos.

I'll start with some pictures, but I'll definitely update with more info. This is another find I can credit Matt with, huge props to him:

Damn, that is one NICE score there.

And clearly someone has good taste in root beer (bottom picture, center box at the bottom).

Goddammit. When the day comes that development companies are as open to releasing/selling older things like this I will cry.

Most of them are final disks with no differences. You may find a minor thing here or there, but if it was pressed, it was nearly final or final (unless it was a demo of couse). CD-rs (and hardware) are a different story of course. I had a few dozen of those disks at one point.

    Ha! I wish!

On the up side, he was just a super nice guy. Told me a bunch of stories from the CDi days, his attempts at insulting the 3DO guys at one of the CES shows, hanging out with Bon Jovi and Tod Rundgren, all sorts of cool stuff.

I just bought a 2 family house (sorta like a duplex for those outside of New England) and we've been trying to downside. So much for that

So, any beta MAH BOI jokes to be made? (On a more serious note, is there really a viable emulation solution for CDI, or is it kinda you have a console or you don't..)

Any info on the Zelda stuff, or any possible Apprentice or Mario Wacky Worlds stuff(doubting it) would be interesting :D

Fantastic find! I'm glad you got to have such a great experience. :)

A solid CD-i emulator was released in 2005. Check it out: http://www.cdiemu.org/

The only catch is you have to pay a modest price for the unlimited version, and you need to get your own bios rom.

nice one, well done. I liked my old CDi, even if I just used it as a VCD player at the end.

I'd go for the prison rape, at least I could look at myself in the mirror the following morning knowing it wasn't my fault

Alright, so a quick run down...

    Protos are good: Check
    The CD-i sucks: Check
Consumed wants to see his reflection after getting raped: Check

In all honesty, getting unreleased stuff on any console is something I'm happy about, even if it's for the CD-i. Lots of dev items that I've never seen before and a chance to talk to a VP in the mid-nineties was definitely worth the trouble.

People seem to hate the Zelda Cd-i games. I like them. hehe. Hopefully you can post video of that Zelda Adventure Red disc some day.
