So, I am the last one left.

Everyone else, all they do is talk about their kids, bbq grills, bathroom tile choices, and safe new family conveyance vehicle.

Ughhh, real life. It does still go on outside this screen doesn't it.
I sometimes wonder why we bother at all.
But don't let me get you down, how's them BBQ grills going?
Now I remember why I do not socialise with people, because they suck.

I can understand a bit, but they are so happy to be like cattle and do the same boring life millions have done.

You get one ticket, why be so boring?

Time to buy their games and systems cheap and pocket a little for yourself ;)

Actually you know Kev, I'm 20 years old and most of the people I knew in High School don't play games any more... Doesn't matter since I they don't speak to me and I don't bother interacting with them. It's all about "I have a girlfriend/boyfriend now" "I don't have time to do XYZ"

At least you've passed the test.

Cattle or sheep? Sheep to the slaughter if you ask me.
What I wouldn't give to have one of those tickets to be as brain dead and numb as the masses.
Why do we bother with anything...
    What is the point...

Note to self, get faster acting anti-depressants... six weeks till happiness, right?

I hate people who aren't excited or passionate about anything. I don't really care that much about what it is: music, games, movies...but goddamnit, people should have at least one thing they're really interested in, otherwise they just become really fucking boring, insufferable and impossible to talk to.

Mega Drives! I don't know where I'd be without these cool gadgets of yesteryear. Seriously. WHERE WOULD I BE?

For now though I'll be off, but will leave you with this one thought.

They only made that stapler after the movie, it never existed before it.

This is why I spent the first thirty years of my life gobbling psychedelic drugs like pacman eats dots and travelling the world... I can't grumble, but you're right - the older you get, the more you realise how utterly fucking boring some people's lives are... It usually happens when kids arrive, but I'd like to think when ours does finally arrive we won't fall into that trap. A lot of it is about having a hobby, or two, or three - most people don't - They get up, go to work, come home, eat, sit on the sofa watch the same shit recycled over and over again and then go to bed.... then get up and do it all again, for the rest of their lives.

I'm just lucky I don't work a 9-5 - but I'll tell you that I had to work for it. Barring acts of god - what you put into life is what you'll get out of it.

Why are you the last one standing? B/c your friends don't play games, or b/c you don't have kids? Not a lot to go on. I have a child and play games almost never these days, but I would hardly call my life boring. Unfortunately others have the pictures to prove it.

Your kid(s) should be your first hobby. If you're not having fun with them most of the time, you're doing it wrong. Beyond that, make time for yourselves (together, and individually). Trust me, plenty of time for excitement after parenthood.

I'm going to wait to get married and have kids until I'm sure nothing else good can happen in my life.

GaijinPunch is right. I have a kid too and we play games together and I also play solo. All the other dads around here are boring as fuck driving their people carrier cars, talking about work or fucking baseball all the time. Yawn city. They think I'm odd because I like to game, I don't want a shitty people carrier type car and I talk about anything other than work. I feel sorry for them. My wife also belongs go the same sad ass life style. No real interests or hobbies.

Being married and having a kid doesn't mean you have to become a bore. I bet these zombie type people were bores before they got married.

Im 23 going on 24 shortly, a lot of my friends have started families by accident or on purpose already, most of them living pay cheque to pay cheque and barely making it by. In contrast, I've just recently gotten into a nice relationship, but I've had a great time of it. I've bought cars, raced cars, wrecked cars, traveled some neat places, done some neat things, and have a lot more to show for it then most of my friends. I'm reminded every day by my boss, who married and settled down young, to get the hell out and travel and do stuff while I can....and why not, we only live once, and if I can and have the means to now, then I'm going to do it. Yahh I want a family and to settle down one day, and that day may be approaching, but I can't do half the things I've done now when I settle down lol

    Yes

You don't become a boring person overnight, you're born boring. I got to know a lot of boring people in my life: In kindergarten, high school, university... some of them only proved to be boring after a while and some of them you know it in one second. The few interesting people I met are those I call my friends now. Maybe they will turn into bores eventually, maybe I will... but at least I have passion in my life, passion for my hobbies. I know why I want to be good at my future job, because I want to live my passions. Most people just want to be good to make money and the money they use to buy things they don't have passion for. Yay, I'm a finance expert with $250,000 annual salary, I buy a Ferrari although I have never been a good driver and go to Las Vegas although I never liked Poker. My life is soooo good.

Replace Ferrari with 50"-TV and Las Vegas with the standard-trip to some holiday resort and there you go.

I know plenty of people my age (north of 30) who still game, one even has a side business selling stuff on a shitty Ecrater store. But then again, around here I don't really have any friends, I have friends and they all game...they just moved on to other places out of state or country.
