This is my fairly small Clock Tower & DEMENTO/Haunting Ground collection, I'm still needing to get a few things (mainly promotional pieces) sadly.

I'm documenting everything I have for the website I'm making to try and have the most complete and comprehensive site online for the series (DEMENTO/Haunting Ground is included due to it's development origins combined with the factor that it's my favorite game).

I also have a few sealed copies of items and a decent amount of doubles, which are currently packed away either to remain in storage or to be sold down the track.

Mixed Magazines and other public press pieces:

Dengenki PS2 Disc #73 (Clock Tower 3 trailer)
    Continue Vol. 20
    TV Game Ranking Databook 1997~1998

    Game Center CX 10.0 DVD
    Capcom Consumer Chronicle Vol.2 CIB
    Dengenki PlayQuestion issues
    Famitsu PS2 Taiwan issues

Anything not listed on here I'd be missing and would be currently looking for in the Want to Buy sub-forum: topic here.

I may have missed some main items (game versions/official products/promotional items) but I haven't bothered to list every single gaming magazine or DVD that was included with them either as I am admittedly lazy!

[Edit] Before anyone asks me, none of the doujinshi are hentai. They're either comic adaptations of the games' plots (covering scenes also not shown in the games but on drama cds, novels, guidebooks or letters in-game) or are parody doujinshi. Only mature content would be gore and in the Demento ones slight undetailed nudity (showing a Homunculus in a tank and so-on sort of thing).

    Hi Lamont,

That's a mighty fine collection you've got there! How long did it take you to put together?

You called it "fairly small", but it looks pretty comprehensive to me. Also, and out of curiosity, precisely what other items (promotional items, versions of the games, etc.) are you still looking for?

    Cheers!

Hello! I think it's small in contrast to some of the other members' collections I've seen on here dedicated to a particular series.

Thank you very much, ^^ Honestly put, I've been replacing items the last half a year and picking up a few I had been missing. I've had most of this stuff for a while but the asian regional items (guidebooks, magazine issues, bootlegs, asian regional game releases (I'm missing a South Korean standard and limited edition (came with a pocketwatch) of Clock Tower 3 as I'm not sure how to import from there via Gmarket).

Overall, it's nearly been a year since I started cracking down on getting certain items I've been after for quite a while and went into bit of a collecting frenzy this year. I'm in the process of switching out battered items with used, but great/complete condition ones but I've ended up with three to five copies of things sometimes due to lots on auction sites.

I've picked up a few items I hadn't thought I'd be able to get from some very helpful people on here.

To be honest, these are the items I know I'm missing -

    Missing Promotional Items

Clock Tower SuperFamicom Prototype/EPROM cartridge/board (may be same as retail, actual comparison is unknown and I've had no response from people I know who have had one).
Clock Tower ~ The First Fear ~ Promotional Poster
Clock Tower ~ The First Fear ~ Promotional Flyer/Leaflet (I'm taking an assumption that there is one, given the marketing standard for HUMAN Entertainment games)
Clock Tower 2 Promotional Poster (there's a second one around, similar to the fold-out page poster in a Famitsu issue I have which can be seen in the poster photos)
    Clock Tower 2 Promotional VHS
Clock Tower Ghost Head Yu/Alyssa Promotional Poster
Clock Tower Ghost Head Saidou/Maxwell Promotional Poster
Clock Tower Ghost Head Promotional Flyer/Leaflet
    Clock Tower Ghost Head Mousepad
Clock Tower II: The Struggle Within Promotional VHS
Clock Tower 3 Promotional Image (trailer) DVD
Capcom E3 2002, 2002 Press Asset, Game Asset Discs, E3 VHS B-Roll Footage
Capcom Tokyo Game Show 2002, 2004 Press Asset, Game Asset Discs.
Clock Tower 3 South Korean LE Pocketwatch with the game's logo
    Clock Tower 3 E3 2002 Digital Watch
Clock Tower 3 Japanese Standees (enemies, Alyssa - there were multiple ones)
Clock Tower 3 US Standees, counter-top displays and dummy displays.
Clock Tower 3 PAL Promotional Copy
Clock Tower 3 US Promotional Poster (most likely is one)
Clock Tower 3 EU promotional poster (most likely has one as well)
Capcom Captivate 2005 (Feb.02.05) Las Vegas Press Asset, Game Asset discs for Haunting Ground
    Haunting Ground European Promotional Poster
Possible alternative Demento Promotional Poster (may have simply been a development team promotional poster for background marketing during Naoto Takenaka and other staff/cast interviews, but seeing as some dev team posters have come out from Capcom beforehand via eBay there may be more than one).

There was also a Human Entertainment mail order newsletter that may have had some additional content. There was also another item listed on a postcard, I'll have to scan the postcard and put it into the translation topic as I wasn't sure of the existence of such an item.

Other than that, rest of it is purely magazines unless new items pop up sometime.

I'm unsure if these were purely tech or if there are working builds but I know these exist (just probably not in the wild) -

    Possible Beta or Review Builds

Clock Tower 3 E3 2001 Cutscene in-engine build (only visual renders were shown).

Demento/Haunting Ground early build (final build pieces show clothing tearing, matched with concept art and the factor that I've ripped beta textures out of the game showing that they had clothing tearing actually in the game at a point with a slightly different costume and there's remaining debug data in one retail release)

Clock Tower 2 mid-1996 build, the game was delayed from being released in October or November until a Friday 13th in December and there were a few changes (mainly music from what I can tell), as the trial version of Clock Tower 2 actually contains a beta build with some differences.

There's also some retail ones around that are actually sample builds, I know of a Clock Tower for Windows 95, an Ultra-2000 reissue sample one and a Ghost Head Asia one.

I'm not aware of any differences on the Clock Tower prototype carts and I haven't seen any different builds of Ghost Head/Struggle Within that are clearly still in production.

Of course, even just documentation pieces would be helpful to get a complete view on the development of the games.

    Missing Retail Items

Clock Tower 3 South Korean (KokoCapcom release)
Haunting Ground FR/SP/IT/GER (Nordic) regional variants
Clock Tower 3 FR/SP/IT/GER (Nordic) regional variants
    Monthly GFantasy September 1998
Monthly GFantasy October 1998 (The GFantasy issues have an official manga, which I am desperately after).

I don't know of any Korean guidebooks or any other asian regional guidebooks for the first three games. I know of a German one for the first three but no other European or US ones.

Overall, higher priority items are the more obscure OR ones that would provide more content pieces for my site. I'm after some dummy/display pieces because there have been some slight changes across some of the pieces due to complaints at the time.

I did have the Demento eCapcom pre-order goblet (little goblet the size of a shot glass) on my high priority list, but after three years I may possibly finally have one complete in box with another sealed copy of Demento.

There's also the digital copies of the three original PS1 versions and the original one available on the Wii Virtual Store. I've gotten all of them and will be getting Demento/Haunting Ground's one to mainly compare if it's the retail build, build with debug or a slightly different build (main difference being, looks like some beta rooms and files are left on certain copies, but were removed on others. This has also left some with glitches and others that work perfectly fine).

    I've now updated the post with a couple of new items (they arrived today!), but I forgot to take a couple of pictures of a couple of the cheat books I have. >_<;

    New items are -

Continue Vol. 20 (it has a 17 page interview with Kouno Hifumi - the creator and/or director of the original Clock Tower games!)
Action Replay April 2003 Vol. 23 (Clock Tower 3 AR codes)
Phenomena Integral Hard Full 1997 VHS (according to information off the old HUMAN Entertainment site, there should be a bit of Clock Tower marketing, such as a commercial on this nearly complete uncut release of Phenomena due to it being the inspiration for Clock Tower in the first place).
TV Game Ranking Databook 9/1995 ~ 8/1998 (a list of rankings per system, genre and alphabetical order to show the most popular by reviewers, purchases nearly all of the Clock Tower games are included in this book).
Spring Festa 1998 Promotional Memory Card Seals/Stickers (includes a Clock Tower GHOST HEAD one).
Clock Tower Series Comic Anthology "CHASE GAME" (about 126 pages, 14 colour pages included)
DEMENTO/Haunting Ground "REMAKE" doujinshi (another mainly gag one by the same author as my other one, but it has a serious one following from the D Ending of Demento).

Also got another Famitsu issue (Demento) and another Famitsu Wave issue with DVD (Clock Tower 3) that I couldn't be bothered to take pictures of.

The Demento "REMAKE" doujinshi also had a gift of plant seeds, which I've no idea how the hell they made it past customs seeing as a lot of items aren't allowed via post or to be brought into the country! No idea what the seeds are of as of yet. >_<; (I sent the artist a tweet and posted the scans of the paper included in the translation request topic because I can't see a plant name from a quick look).

And I'm waiting on an item to arrive to a deputy service agent's office in China currently, if it arrives safely (fragile item) to Australia eventually then I'll only have to pick up the remaining regional European variants (manuals, cases in other languages same PAL disc) of Haunting Ground to have a complete retail collection for it!

I've also been told by one of the artist's that does the Clock Tower doujinshi that there may be another one to two coming out for Comiket 83 in December.

Don't know the specifics of it for now.

Just great collection! Thanks for sharing.

I think it is nice to see collection for these series. Please don't forget to tell us when your website is ready. :)

    Thank you very much!

I will be sure to post and let everyone know across a few forums, I've not been able to work on it for a week and a half due to being ill (probably pneumonia off from the horrible flu I had) and trying to sort out my wedding later on this month. >_<; Once I'm over this flu or whatever it is, I'll have a bit of catching up to do.

However, I was able to record some of the cutscenes I needed to correct and have nearly gotten the Clock Tower 3 concept art cleaned up.

I'm waiting on some extra copies of some guidebooks, I have to debind them to get higher resolution scans (Clock Tower SFC, Clock Tower ~ The First Fear ~ Official Guidebook, Clock Tower 2 Official Guidebook) because they have either bigger concept art pieces than the others do OR they have different art styles.

The CT2 one has a more American comic book inspired art style, whereas the official art pieces were either sketches in a similar style OR a more notably Japanese style.

Thank you! I still need to correct some of that however. That copy of the WonderSwan Clock Tower version's box is a bit worn, I'll have to pick up another.

I've been looking for the bands for the the three Clock Tower 3 guidebooks and When The Game God Swoops Down, just seems that each of the ones listed as new have been used, repacked without the band that they originally came with. DX

    Anyway.

    I'm slowly working on the items I'm currently missing. Some on that list are assumptions I've made due to the marketing standards Human Entertainment used. For example, others' weren't aware of there being a Ghost Head promotional VHS, I assumed there was and a user on here let me know about there being an auction on Yahoo Japan that included two Clock Tower promotional VHS. One I knew of, the other I had assumed the existence of and was correct about it. ^^;

So I feel that even though I have that list there, there is most likely other items that I haven't seen or am not aware of that may pop up sometime in the future. Just have to be patient and keep an eye out on everything.

    I check various gaming forums, eBay, Yahoo Japan, Rakuten, Bidders, Mbok, Amazon, Taobao, Ruten Taiwan daily just to be on the safe side that I don't miss anything. >_<;

Very picky collector I see, I'm the same but sometimes it's the only condition you can find at the time :/

Uh yes reseals, I was a victim of that a few weeks ago it's so infuriating ><

So I'm guessing Clock Tower merch is rather hard to come by, I've never heard of the title until now... Remember seeing it in Hint Books but that's about it.
Are you also interested in it being featured in Magazine articles, I have a few gaming mags that might have Clock Tower in there, the title sounds familiar each time I type it.

Generally yes, there will always be items you won't know about until you see it. The internet is a great help for finding some information but doesn't have all of it sadly ><"

Sadly yes, I'm trying to get everything in the condition it was released as. More or less, if it came with a band or an additional map or something of the sort I'd like to ensure the information I'm documenting is exact.

Ah, that's not good. Sorry to hear you got resealed stuff too. >_<

It depends on the region and of what type of item it is. Promotional ones are the harder to find ones and so are certain cheat books and magazines sadly.

I'd be happy to pay for scans if you didn't have any doubles or copies you weren't inclined to sell if they do contain Clock Tower or Haunting Ground content.

Well, the downside is that there isn't a lot of documentation regarding items for the series so I've had to look around, try my luck for most of it. That's part of the whole reason why I'm documenting everything in the first place (I'm also going to be providing media content, information and so-on) on my site to try and have the most comprehensive lot on the series. ^^

It's nice to see you have a great passion for the series, a uniform collection always looks the best so I really don't blame you for being picky. There has been many times were I've asked sellers to confirm the condition with additional images, some are so lazy though -_- (it makes me think if they even have the item in the first place).

No need to pay me for digital images or scans, I'll keep a look out for you since I now know you're really hunting for it all. I'd really be glad to help and it's on the house =^.^= .
I had a look through some of my old magazines sadly I didn't find anything related to it. Quite possibly it was in a magazine that was thrown away or I borrowed it at some stage, sorry about that ><

That would be great to have a dedicated site with all the documentation for the series, it will help fellow collectors.
It's bugging me, I can't remember where I heard about the title still XD

Not sure how long we'll get away with having a chat on the boards for, but my contact information is on my blog or my skype XD.
I'll be sure to PM you or post in your WTB if I come across anything that may interest you ^^

I have the same issue on that. I'm currently waiting for a fairly fragile Demento item to arrive at the agent's office in China and I'm going to ask them to open the box to check if the glass is fine. (There was a very limited pre-order glass, about the size of a shot glass with Demento/Haunting Ground from the e-Capcom Japan store).

I've been hunting for it for a few years now, so if it's all safe and sound I'll be glad to get it off my top list.

Thank you very much, I figured it would have been the least I can do for taking up some of your time.

But no worries, I've jotted down in my notes that there's most likely more Australian older issues that may have had Clock Tower 2 in it that I'll have to keep a lookout for.

Not just collectors but fans in general, I'm putting up all of the information and media in the one place at what I try to have as a high standard for it as I got fed up with the lack of complete information and lack of media in general. (Like nobody had ripped all of the music out of the original games as there was no soundtrack release for them - I've done that all myself now).

You may have heard the title more recently with Clock Tower 3, given that there was also a slight controversy regarding the release in Europe (some violence against women, human rights groups had a hissyfit about a young female character being bludgeoned to death on-screen for all of about three seconds in promotional footage) so it got a little bit of media coverage due to that.

Ah, well I'll send you a message and/or add request via Skype since I'm usually on invisible on there.

I sure hope it arrives to you in perfect condition, it all depends on how they pack it. Some sellers are really idiotic with packing, I've had Nintendo 64 boxes just wrapped in paper and even once shipped in a cereal box, aiyiyi -_-

Oh that's fine, thanks for the offer but I don't work or anything I have a lot of time... Not sure if that's a good thing though :p

Ah yes, now it makes perfect sense I do remember hearing about Clock Tower 3. I'm sure if it was a movie there would be no hissyfits at all. Not sure why games are treated differently...

No worries, I'll look out for your request.

I'm going to request that the agent sends it in a box with a bit more packing. The glass has a decent bit of packing in it's original box (cut foam for the glass to sit in), but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I also now have a lead on another item thanks to another helpful user on here, so I hope I can get it at some point. Though truth be told, the community here is really friendly and helpful. I'm really glad I registered on here and finally stopped lurking.

I probably wouldn't have been able to find some things or get some specific information regarding certain items if I hadn't.

Ah, well I wish I had some free time at the moment. Stressing about getting a dress for my wedding (three dress orders have fallen through on me DX) so that's why I was fairly excited when I spotted the Demento glass. A plus for a crappy week with the flu and having to try and suddenly reorganize a wedding dress at the last minute.

Though I will admit, I get excited fairly easily at picking up new items. I'm a little OCD so I enjoy scanning, documenting and checking for differences for the most part. ^^

As for that, games probably get treated differently due to the stupid mentality still in place that games are for kids (Australia's gaming demographic states otherwise) but surprisingly Clock Tower 3 and Haunting Ground came through whereas similar themes in the games were also used in Rule of Rose that caused another outrage and got pulled from being released here as it may have ended up getting a resubmit demand/request from the classification board on top of the whole boycott drama and other shit similar to what happened with CT3 before it got shoved under a rug.

    Thank you mate. ^^

Overall, I seem to be having a good week in terms of material and information to go over. To be honest, it's been fairly slow for new items for a few months so anything new is good at this point as I'm trying to have a mad collecting dash before the series becomes older and most likely more obscure.

I've replaced two of the Clock Tower 3 guidebooks, so the Clock Tower 3 Walkthrough book and the Official Guide Book are both now complete in new condition.

I've gotten another SFC 1995 copy of Clock Tower CIB, Clock Tower ~ The First Fear ~ PS1, Clock Tower 2, Clock Tower GHOST HEAD, Clock Tower 3 so I'll end up selling those at some point as I don't need the extra copies of those releases.

I've also been picking up the remaining European variants of Clock Tower 3, Haunting Ground which I'll be adding onto my site at some point but I'm still needing to replace Clock Tower PS1 PAL UK and am needing Clock Tower 3 South Korea's release.

I've also gotten an issue of the Official Nintendo Power Play Book Volume 1, however it was sadly cut and debound, I've put it into a folder but it does have a two-page article on Clock Tower SFC (namely the Nintendo Power 1000 yen release, which has also confirmed the number allotted for it on the Loppi machine) and at the back of the issue were two pages of small game stickers, including a small one for Clock Tower which was a nice find.

Though, there aren't that many magazines with articles or content covering the initial SFC version that I'm aware of but I still need to find the previous issue to that Nintendo Power Play Book as I know there is an additional article on it.

With the article I worked on with Mike of Nintendo Player, I also was able to confirm the TGS Version of Clock Tower 3 having some slight differences, an additional beta of Clock Tower 3 and further details on the initial Clock Tower 3 Prototype.

I'm hoping that I may be able to obtain a CT3 TGS copy at some point to poke around in, so there's a few more things that I'll be needing to obtain for my collection.

But other than that, not much to add as there hasn't been any new items as of late sadly.

Beautiful collection Alice! Where did you track down the posters, they are very nice!

If you have PAL duplicates of the PS1 titles I could be interested in them, I still need to re-visit the early games myself.

The Clock Tower 2, Clock Tower 3 and Demento ones came from Yahoo Auctions Japan.

The Clock Tower 3 one is fairly easy to find (there's one currently on YAJ at the moment), the Demento one is less common than the CT3 one, anything older like CT2 or any of the alternative CT3 posters are much harder to find.

The US Haunting Ground one came from eBay UK oddly enough. Postage cost me far too much given that it isn't exactly in pristine condition, but it's been the only US one I've seen on eBay so I've grabbed it.

I know there's quite a few more posters, but I haven't been able to find a decent amount of things sadly. (Though I have made a confirmed product list per game and type of product (game version/official/promotional/unofficial) on my website (which I'm PM'ing to you as it's not complete and it's only in a 1366x768 resolution at the moment so I'm not ready to post it around currently).

I'm afraid to say that I haven't got any extra PAL copies, the only one released within PAL regions was Clock Tower 2, retitled as "Clock Tower" and that had three releases. A UK English release, French subtitled regional release and a German subtitled regional release (both the French and German releases have different catalog numbers to the UK release).

A little update - I finally got around to checking the VHS tapes and the Clock Tower: GHOST HEAD tape contains promotional footage I hadn't seen before, so that's a plus.

As for items to add onto it -

Clock Tower 3 PAL Promotional copy
Capcom Tokyo Game Show 2002 Special DVD
Clock Tower Fan Doujinshi #5 "CloSEd CagE"

Another bunch of magazines I haven't gotten around to sorting out as of yet sadly, including a few more mixed Dengeki PS2 and the like DVDs that contain different marketing materials and trailer cuts that outside of those specific discs are a bit difficult to find excluding one particular trailer cut.

I was also able to confirm another additional couple of beta builds of Clock Tower 3 that were in playable states and were being shown to the press - the dead giveaway on those builds are differences on the health bars but there is most likely more (such as a removed area at a point in 2002) that I'll be looking into at another time.

There's also a soon to come Clock Tower: GHOST HEAD doujinshi anthology coming later this year that I'll be grabbing a couple of copies of (a friend of mine is a HUGE Ghost Head fan, so she's getting one as a gift).

Sadly that's more or less about it at the current time. It's been rather slow in terms of items and the only newer one I found was the Demento pre-order glass in it's box but given that the seller that currently has it listed elsewhere decided to screw me over on that purchase on MY WEDDING DAY LAST YEAR, I've decided against going for it again due to the seller will probably pull the same bullshit of "Oh, I don't feel like selling it now" and re-listing it months down the track with a higher price, despite that I was already paying close to $300 for it in the first place - nobody else is really going to fork out much more than that.

Hey you're back! Been wondering why I haven't seen you around much. Congratulations on your wedding too by the way.
Glad you could add more items to your already impressive collection, and I haven't forgotten I'm still looking for related items when I hunt for my stuff :)

Ah, it was a mixture of being busy with work and my internet connection screwing up (why I haven't finished that huge update on my site either). I was due to get a new laptop at the start of the year but more bills have stopped that from happening. >_<
