I was going to say something about the Sokoban game that appears on this list. While we didn't get it officially, in the homebrew game Double Feature #1 there's a hidden game game which is basically Sokoban: http://www.mdgames.de/jaguar_pushthem.htm

Regarding the Sega-Atari deal, an Ex-Atari employee spotted my thread on Atari I.O forum and posted comment:

"Honestly, I kind of only vaguely remember this...not quite sure why any of the Sega games never happened. Its possible that they wanted additional funds and we didn't have the resources to fully execute...(I'm sure they didn't want any of our stuff lol)"

He posts under username of Marigold, we are trying to get more details regarding who he is and his role at Atari.

He also commented on claims that Jaguar Mortal Kombat 3 was around 89% complete( UK magazine Ultimate Future Games:The Big 1 Jaguar preview, Quake quoted at 30% complete also..)..and playable at E3/CES (depending on who repeats the comment)..made years ago by a poster by name of T2K Freeker:

"As someone who worked on MK 3 for a bit..it is possible that an intro screen or something was created to justify the developer getting paid. Usually we would have a contract signing payment, but the 1st milestone could have required getting something up and running, usually to satisfy this people would just have rudimentary code running so they could get some $$$."

"89% done ? LOL not even close...you can look at the payments and see it wouldn't be anywhere near that even for a 68K port of the genesis code."

Talking about Mortal Kombat and the Jaguar..quote from Bill Rehbock, Atari UK back in the day:

"..Williams has no control over Mortal Kombat 2 for Jaguar.Greg Fishback at Acclaim does...

Kasumi Ninja and Ultra Vortex more than make up for the fact that Acclaim doesn't have the vision to support Jaguar."

Don Thomas:" MK2 and other unannounced properties are always possibilities pending agreements with the companies that own them. In the meantime, we have several great fighting games that will compete with MK2 very well."

Here's Dactyl Joust by High Voltage Software. It was a update of the classic Williams arcade game. It was almost complete, with 6 months of work left to be done prior to discontinuation of the game's development.
    Footage of the game:

And a interview with one of the devs who worked on it (whose name was not publically stated):

Here's also another game that was going to be part of the 2000 series, Centipede by Dark Science.

Here's another game that was going to make use of the unreleased VR Helmet, Suma's Gravon: Real Virtuality. Here's the mentioning of the Jaguar versiĆ³n in this extract from Excalibur magazine:

Here's all that i could gather about OMC Games' unfinished & unreleased games they were developing for the Jag:

    - The Age of Darkness: It was going to be a Action RPG developed by OMC Games featuring a mature story & content, a mix of 2D & 3D graphics, large scenery, characters & setpieces, Pro Controller support and more. The discontinuation behind this one was probably the ammount of projects OMC Games were working on and maybe proved to be too much for them. The coding of the game is now lost forever due to a HDD crash the creator suffered. The head of the team behind it was James Garvin. Only very few concept arts & maps exist now due to that HDD crash. CD format.

    - The Assassin: Like The Age of Darkness, OMC Games' The Assassin was going to be Action-RPG featuring Michael Steele, who delves into the underworld to avenge the death of his brother, but finds that there are stones which shouldn't be overturned in the year 2147 on Austin, Texas. This was going to be a prequel to another Jaguar Project OMC Games was working on called Orb of Bengazi. I can't recall the reason as to why it was discontinued exactly but i do know directly from James that the game is now lost forever thanks to the same HDD crash his computer suffered but, unlike Age of Darkness. A lot has survived such as screenshot, Michael's theme song and various artworks. It was planned to come out at some point in the 2000. CD format. The team behind it was James Garvin, Andrew Morio/Norio, Bad Kid, Tim Wilson, Jim Krych, Sorceror's Magic, Sandro Sarang, Arthur Lauristen, Miyuki Ogata, Dilip Silva & Kain Shin.

Just want to thank Scott Stilphen, once again, as thanks to someone reading through this thread and spotting the Sega Documents he so kindly passed on, they've been able to update their own pages:

    http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index.php/Blog:Legal_Brief:_Atari_vs._Sega

AtariMania, Atari I.O, Unseen64, GTW etc have all so far benifited from this simple act of kindness by Scott and i hope his files continue to assist others in time to come.

Update: i'm waiting for a friend of mine who worked as a tester on Missile Command 3D to see if he still has the Major Havoc 2000 storyboards + the Missile Command 2000 build (the one shown at E3 1995) and, maybe, a build of Lobo for the Jaguar CD. If he shows anything i'll post it on my thread. A former artist of Club Drive has diskettes containing the never-before seen Space Pirates for the Jag. Andrew H. Denton (cover artist of AVP) has lots of Atari stuff on his house so we'll see if he shows some of his stuff. The producer of Kasumi Ninja had a craiglist where he was selling his Atari stuff like 4 months ago, someone bought it but that person hasn't show that stuff to us sadly at the moment and i'm not sure if KN producer has more cool stuff. John Hardie of the Video Game Museum may have some really cool Jaguar stuff as well. Lance of the Video61 store came in contact with the owner of the multiple revisions of Black Ice/White Noise about 5-6 months ago (since he still has the old Atari computers from the 90s), so who knows what he may have under his sleeves. There's actually a prototype of Virtuoso for the Jaguar CD in the hands of a private collector. Someone proposed to him that he could give it to Songbird Productions so they could release it properly but, at the time of posting this, no news about the Jag Virtuoso prototype has shown up.

segaforce00013.jpg Space Pirates should look as good..If not better than the 3DO version..as Jaguar CD's FMV playback was said to be superb.

Game looks as cheesy as i expected..

I know a Sega CD version was announced. .but that would of been grainy as hell.

Actually, you're wrong. The Space Pirates i'm talking about that the person found IS COMPLETELY unrelated to that one. According to that old Atari employee who found the diskettes of that project, many of the assets of that project that was never released were reused in Trevor McFur in the Crescent Galaxy.

You put up nothing but a game name, didn't even say it was an original title or conversion..could of even been a working title..I just took a best guess..with the crumbs given.

The fact it's not even the medicore FMV coin op just makes this even more of a fiasco for Atari.

But i do hope i get things like this guess work wrong more often.

    It's far funnier.

Seriously, you made my day today..

    :))
