    Hello,
I got a Wii RVT-R unit and will soon acquire an NR disc of Crazy Taxi. Since I don't have the Wii Menu Installer disc I was wondering if it's possible to swap a retail Wii DVD drive with the one from my RVT-R unit. The retail Wii I own is a later one (purchased in 2010).

Not sure why you would want to swap the DVD drive. You can play RVT-R DVD's and NR-discs from any region on a RVT-R without having the menu installed! =)

    That's actually a good question.

Programs like cleanrip don't need to decrypt discs to dump them. That's why a us Wii can dump Korean games and vice verse.

I think it's likely enough to work that you should try it.

Does your rvt r have a system menu installed?

I see, I might give it a try when I have time.
Sadly my RVT-R has no system Menu installed. I also don't own a Wii Menu Install disc or RVT Writer
