    According to this article: http://www.pcmag.com/news/349328/web-of-trust-browser-extension-cannot-be-trusted

The WOT Privacy Policy states that your IP, geographic location, device type, operating system, browser, the date and time, Web addresses, and overall browser usage are all collected, but that it is "non-identifiable." But NDR found that it was a simple task to link the anonymized data to individual users of the service. The data retrieved included:

    • Account name
    • Mail address
    • Travel plans
    • Illnesses
    • Sexual preference
    • Drug consumption
    • Confidential company information
    • Ongoing police investigations
    • Browser surfing activity including all sites visited

I recommend removing this extension, nothing that stores more information then 'harmful sites' isn't worth having. Who knows where this information goes to...

It's been removed from Firefox breaching TOS as well.

I've never heard of WOT before. My antivirus has an optional feature similar to it though. It's been quite useful for me, especially when downloading mods for popular PC games. Thanks for the heads up!

My thoughts on these because I see some weird things all the time
Unrelated but once had a game send a targeted ad for gay chat rooms out of nowhere. My browsing history didn't match that medium for the month I was active online so I was more bothered that this ad showed up YET WAS FAR MORE INTERESTING than any ad that would be more geared toward me.
If you wanna see the ad PM me because it was amusing enough to screenshot

    Code:

    [*]Account name - not surprising
[*]Mail address - not surprising if email. If actual address then somewhat surprising
[*]Travel plans - not surprising but makes sense give the above
    [*]Illnesses - I'm sure that's
[*]Sexual preference - if being monitored to that extent I have my doubts but this is coming from me
    [*]Drug consumption - believable
[*]Confidential company information - easily believable and very likely given the first 4
[*]Ongoing police investigations - also not surprising but that is an interesting one to be monitoring
[*]Browser surfing activity including all sites visited - not surprising

Hex1gon has a kangaroo hit man waiting for you, DeChief. He has even went so far as to hire a squad of wallabies and import Tasmanian devils. "There's no such thing as a fair fight"
