    Personally I think the deathstar is made out of an Alloy we don't have. After all this was long ago in a galaxy far far away.

    You'd also need engines to move the thing around and the damn planet-destroying laser...
    Basically, they've only calculated the cost for a big ball of steel.

    kill the heads of states with resoruces, annex their lands, make their people slaves then get them to build it. Nothing beats free enterprise.
