How can you tell? Didn't realise there was different versions.

Just doing some reading up. I suspect these are the V1.0 but I would need to test one of this batch to be 100% sure. From what I have read its only for the multigame menu which from what I have read you can use GCoS to create multi-game disks that can be used with any Xeno chip.

Or, you can update the chip to a 2.0 but it'd require soldering it in first

    Solderless?

I'm gathering that's what it means by "wireless", since you're in Melbourne how much would it cost to send within Melbourne?

Wireless does not mean solderless. They mean you can directly solder it on the board on the DVD drive without the need of any wires. It's pretty simple for someone with basic soldering experience.

If you don't know what you're doing though, I'd use wires, but it's pretty hard to mess up.

Its not too hard to mess up if you don't have oodles of experience. A few times i've managed to get most of the joints secure but miss one or two and it refused to work. The fun part is that there isn't any easy way to check beyond removing the chip and reinstalling it.

Though once you do it right you can nail it every time.

And as Assembler mentioned the LEDs are different colors. Most instructions on the internet say it'll be a solid green if installed correctly. Thing is the more common 2.0 chips blink red while psyching the system initially, or if it is able to get power but a solder joint is incomplete, then solid amber/orange upon success. Went nuts trying to figure out what that meant when two installs in a row went solid amber.

v1.0 if properly installed should have green LEDs and v2.0 if installed properly should have orange LEDs. I'll take one as well after which chip version is known.

Edit: Looks like someone beat me to it.

    Hey guys,
Replaced my chip with this one and I can confirm they are V2.0 chips. It has an orange LED and loads into the GC Shell.
Hope this clears up every ones queries.

    Also $10USD includes international shipping.
    Thanks

Yeah, the 2.0 versions have orange LEDs, that's what I have in my cube. Although, the 2.0s have issues displaying it's menu on NTSC TVs as it outputs in PAL, but it isn't a big deal if you have a TV that can output both.
