This was the golden age of Dreamcast emulators.
lots of frameskipping.. I was some skilled dev would take another shot at emulating the snes sometime in the future
The issue being lack of ram if i remember correctly. I believe this is why emulator authors had too kill some of the sound emulation for the genesis too get it running.
Nothing to do with lack of RAM. DreamSNES needed a rewrite to improve performance and its authors weren't willing to do that.
The Genesis emulator was written by Sega (or rather Gary Lake who worked for them at the time) and has a lot more wrong with it than just sound emulation, it's just a garbage emulator that needed more work
