If you do a reset, the email may not make it to you and then you will be locked out.

Please wait for notice of repair of email services.

    [EDIT]
This goes for changing your e-mail, too. You need to receive confirmation to your original account, so could get locked out.

It should only be Hotmail (and other Microsoft accounts) that are affected, but it is better to be safe than sorry! We are working on getting Hotmail to unblock us... again. - retro

When I reset mine, the password reset was embedded in the page. I thought the email only came into play if you use "forgot password". In which case you are already effectively locked out.

Added a note that changing e-mail could have the same issue.

Changing your password after logging in should be fine - the issue is that Hotmail (and perhaps other servers, not that we've seen, though) are blocking our mails, so you'll be set to awaiting e-mail confirmation by the system automatically and won't be able to validate.

My other account is basically locked because of two step verification and hotmail. Isn't there any way to fix this?
