Dino Crisis VGA FMV patch by japanese_cake

    Here the english .cdi file tested by mistamontiel thanks to him :

    In fact it's not exactly the same, I had a dummy to have a 79min59size, so perfect for burning :)
    I'm not sûre about the endings and I have no saving game. I hope everything is ok.

    I do the same for french and spanish version. I'll share them in the isozone when I'll be sure about the endings.

    yeah, the last link is the good one.

    I try it yesterday, it's ok for voices and FMV, Just can't check the endings for now.

    Nothing is downsample, the size is 79min59s for a better result in a real dreamcast :)

    I'm not sure yet about the endings, But everythings look rights. Thanks again to mistamontiel, family guy and japanese cake.

    I am glad you like it! It was pretty tougth to patch them all.
    AFAIK, Dino Crisis was the only one with this fmv playback problem. But then you have many more "classic" non-vga games (and I am not even mentioning jap games). I've found a really well done vga compatibility list here. I use it to check how many games are left to be patched ^^ To be honest, my pipeline is quite full ! They are wip VGA patches, BIOSes & misc tools and I will communicate about it later. Right now, I am looking for a way to fund a soldering station or find a gentle guy who can fix two bios mod.

    What about the NTSC-U/J versions of Dino Crisis? No problems over VGA?

    RE:CVX is on top of my to do list. I've started to work on it yet though.
    Regarding the BIOSes, a new old one will be released and a new one will follow but not before next year ;)
    As I explained on my blog, in a comment, I don't really see the point of patching the ntsc-u version as, unless there a special content/feature I am not aware of, the pal-en does the job well (no subtitles and supports 60hz). For the ntsc-jap, it may be of some interest for Japanese players. Let's say I will check this out after RE:CVX. I patch pal/euro version as they are often multi languages and include lastest bug fixes. If there are region specific games that lack VGA support, don't hesitate to update the VGA compatibility list I mentioned above. I may give it a try in the future ^^

    Yes but at the cost of the latest features. However, I have reasons to believe that the next one will have all the features, plus new ones, less the incompatibility problems (there is a lot of promises in my words lol).

    great things will come about recvx i had play the standar dc and ps2 version more than 100 times (im big fan of the old school resis) if you need to ask something or want things to be tested i am here as always

    I mean I have two dreamcasts with a dual bios mod but it seems like none of them is working correctly anymore (bad soldering skills + transportation)

    Is there any way to patch out the filtering implement all over the Dreamcast version?
    I can't stand what it does to all the text and textures in-game. The pc version suffers in many areas, but even that doesn't have the ugly bilinear/trilinear filter.

    Capcom has done a ugly work, fortunately japanese_cake has done a good one :)
