I recently acquired a unreleased game for the original Game Boy under the name of "Death Track". Death Track was a racing shooter DOS game published by Activision so it didn't surprise me that they would try to port it the Game Boy as well. However, when I dumped the ROM, the name of the ROM was called "Trail Blazers". A quick search came up with this link... https://www.unseen64.net/2011/12/10/trail-blazer-gb-cancelled/

A image of this game can been seen in Joypad magazine issue #8 but their isn't any additional information. Later in the Unseen64 article, their is a link to the original programmer's website (http://www.stevendunn.com/) where he describes his specific duties on this game (and other's he worked on). The port was done by Argonaut Software in 1991 (and slated for release 1992 but was cancelled). Although the credits mention music and sfx by Neil Baldwin, the game has no sounds or music (that I can determine). Here are a few photos for anyone who has interest to see. If anyone has additional info they could provide or wants more details about the game, feel free to post here!

Oh nice, I'm a big fan of Argonaut GB games. Are you going to record some footage of this? Would love to see it in action.

Here is a short video of me miserably failing in 4th place on the first track...

Thanks for making a video! I really like how Argonaut even attempted the wireframe and 3D graphics for gameboy. Two off the top of my head by them are 'X' and 'Race Drivin'. This would have been a great addition to the library, too bad they didn't get to finish/release it.

    Really cool find!

Nice find and thanks for posting the video, but it just doesn't look all that fun to play. Your thoughts since you have played it a bit?

Maybe because I suck lol but my complaint is that it seems unforgivingly hard. If they put in difficulty settings, it work be funner...

If it's anything like Race Drivin GB then with some practice you can get good at it. Just a bit of a learning curve.

I still remember when I found that lone screenshot in a old magazine.

So you are the one who submitted that photo to Unseen64, thanks for that! Helped me confirm that both the names Death Track and Trailblazers were the same project.

Yeah, something like 7-8 years ago.
    Time flies.
