This actually takes the digital signal from the Dreamcast mainboard before it's turned into analog RGB.

New flex cables arrived today and they will be fine. I just ordered what should be the last PCB hardware revision. Firmware by chriz2600 is still being worked on heavily. I mean it works, but many features that we come to expect are still being added in. We don't want to release hardware too soon and have issues with future firmware updates, etc. Firmware will be easily update able via wifi.
I will also be doing PCB fab assembly with this project. So there shouldn't be long wait times like gcdual preorder.

Its going to be close to the other HDMI kits out there. This has a large custom flex cable, expensive FPGA and HDMI transmitter.

will be definitely worth the price if it displays proper resolution (unlike the bros devices) and 240p, 480i, 480p modes. day one buy for me for sure
Yes it handles the proper resolutions and aspect ratios. It will also do integer scaling.
240p > 480p/720p
480i > 480p (BOB)
480p > 960p and 960p (In 1080p frame)
Those are great and sensible features.

Yep, even/odd/intensity will all be available options.

Could we get access to the code? I was always fascinated by FPGA but never had a project with one. This could be fascination to read/learn from.

He is handling the firmware, this project will be 100% open source, hardware and software. But like I said before I plan to do an assembly run for people who do not have the skills to build their own.
