    Hi everybody,

    I have this 1084-s d2 monitor and tried to use the rgb input with the cables (scart to 9 pin adapter) I use usually on my 1084-s p1, but consoles like snes, mega drive and ps2 cant get a stable image and picture is rolling or distorted, actually the only console that has a good and stable picture is a rgb modded coregrafx.

    searching the web I cant find a solution, saw that could be sync related, anyone who can help?

    many thanks

    Some of the Commodore RGB montiors don't accept composite video as sync, you'll have to find a way to use composite sync on those systems or use a sync stripper.

    it doesn't matter if the rgb cables are with composite sync or raw sync? maybe this could be a solution? or changing some pin in scart plug? I'm pissed off

    thanks for the reply

    Might be using the raw sync pin.

    ps2 av out never had raw sync.
    on snes, it's only ntsc consoles.

    yes it should be like that, also the rgb coregrafx must be raw sinc as it works fine

    I have also us and japan snes but the rgb cable I have gives me sync problems too

    I'm gonna build a new rgb cable for the md to see if that fix the problem, it would be more difficult with snes since I don't know how to manage the snes plug...

    another strange thing about this monitor is that dimensions of the screen change a little between 50 and 60 hz...on the other 1084s I have, screens borders change widely like in my sony trinitron...

    to get the 60hz full screen with MD2 and coregrafx I had to work with the h-v monitor adjustments and it results wider scanlines than the other monitor, it still looks nice but it results that 50hz don't look like have to after testin with a c64

    things get more stranger as if I connect my mega drive 2 through the joytech multi out I still have sync problems....so I still don't understand if things are fixable with gettin raw sync from the consoles or if is something related to the db 9 of the monitor or what...

    I have to do some testing

    strange thing is I discovered that my other 1084 monitor has some sync problems too, but only if I put the scart's console straight to the adaptor, if I use them trough the joytech multiout everything looks perfect and stable

    I love commodore monitors but they are a little struggle

    I have a Commodore 1084 monitor with the DB9 connector. Here is what I used to get it to work:

    Genesis R G and B lines --> one 75ohm resistor per line --> C= 1084
    Genesis C-Sync --> 3x 75ohm resistors in-line (225 ohm total) --> C= 1084 (you could use a single larger resistor but I worked with what I had)
    Genesis Ground --> C=1084 Ground

    This worked for me otherwise I was getting no picture. The sync signal from the US NTSC Genesis is kind of strong. Not sure if the Mega Drive is the same?
