Borderlands Test Disk?

    Hi! I recently came across this disk. When I pop it in, the game is recognized and asks me to download updates. Is anybody familiar/know any details regarding this (it's use, value, rarity)?

    Also sorry for the image quality. It's extremely reflective, so if I shoot it head on, it's just an image of me. If I get it from the side, it creates sort of a "double image" with the text. 20171203_102607.jpg

    I suspect it's exactly what it says - a test disk. When you get optical media made, they create the master and the stampers then do a small test run of disks that they ship to the customer for final signoff before starting the mass production run.

    Pressed disc (or mastered disc, note the ring with the PS logos)
    These, like Trimesh said, are usually what are done as a test. Usually (but not all the time, like 2 examples that didn't) they're the final build ready for release.

    They do also have the neat feature of being seethrough. I still like this.

    I've seen one or two of these on ebay for other PS3 games. Try dumping it and see if data matches CRC 6ac8fe09 (redump entry for the first version of this game).
