The game you are thinking of, which got the actor that was Johnny Cage in MK1 and 2 fired (and made it so we didnt see Cage in MK3 or UMK3, and had a different actor in MKT), was called Bloodstorm.

There is a little article on the game and some screens and stuff here: http://www.giantbomb.com/bloodstorm/3030-30428/

If you look at the pics there, you should see a flyer for the game. that flyer is part of the reason why the Johnny Cage actor got fired.

Oh yeah, i completely forgot about Tattoo Assassins. I remember seeing it in magazines at the time and thinking it looked like it could be decent, and then just kinda never hearing about it again. Got to play the proto on mame years and years later and got to see that it was probably for the best it never released. it was crap, lol.

This is fascinating like only a bad '90s fighting game can be.

I wonder if Royal Marshall (what kind of name is that?) is a deliberate ripoff of the cyborg ninjas from Mortal Kombat 3. Maybe it was just convergent evolution.

I guess the backgrounds weren't half bad for the time!

Three ROMs have been dumped so far: Alpha, Beta and the HVSCMAZE demo but there's 3 more remaining (the E3 1995 build, a Background image viewer and the near-finished build).

I still remember that gamepro issue, and the article which was first announced on. Its a shame that was never officially released back in the day, but all thanks to some great people, we have the chance to play it. Looking forward for any updates you got

The one who dumped the 3 ROMs for now is my friend Nick, who also makes the excellent Rotary mods. The update is about who has the remaining ROMs, the list of moves of the characters avaiable from the Beta ROM thanks to another friend of mine in Brazil, Adriano and some photos related to the game found by other buddies of mine + MK2 Shang Tsung: Tursi, Daniel Pesina & Philip Ann. I'll also post magazine scans that mentions the game in anyway, shape or form :)

Ok so here's some of the stuff that have popped up about the recently dumped builds of the game. First off, thanks to my friend Adriano for figuring out some of the special moves on the Beta:
Prince Pak (played by Ho-Sung Pak):
    _ >,> + punch
    _ <,< + punch
    _ v,> + punch
    _ v,^ + punch
    _ v,v + punch
    _ v,v + kick

    Tok:
    _ >,> + punch
    _ >,> + kick
    _ v,^ + punch
    _ <,v,> + punch
    _ v,> + punch

    Sparq (played by Daniel Pesina):
    _ < + punch
    _ >,> + punch
    _ >,>,> + punch
    _ v,^ + punch
    _ v,v + kick
_ in air, hold v + kick, kick
    _ v,> + punch

    Royal Marshall:
    _ hold > + kick repeatedly
    _ v,> + punch
    _ v,^ + punch
    _ <, hold >, kick, punch
    _ >,>,> + punch
    _ >,>,<,>

Here's some of the flyers produced by Lightspeed Productions that still exists at the moment (the one on wiki, one by grooveraider [which was posted by Buddybuddies here before] & the one Nick has):

Here's some of the brief moments the game appears on the footage of the E3 1995 by various people on YT:

Here's some of the pics taken by various people at the Atari booth in E3 1995 by Mike "Tursi" Brent, Philip Ahn M.D. & Daniel Pesina (who has more photos of the game waiting to be shown :)) Philip said that the geinie-esque character is from another unreleased fighting game but who knows, it could be from TRF:

    Supposedly, there's also zombie skins!:

Last but not least for this first update about the game, here's Simon "10p6" Daniel's video, which shows the 3 builds that were dumped last year. Unfortunately, his Atari Jaguar videos were illegaly taken down by the folks that conforms Reboot at AA & The Removers (who did the Another World Jaguar port) so you can only see this video at his FB page:

More will be shown so stay tuned :D!

Here's the second update about TRF:

    - Here's the list of confirmed characters found & named on the various magazines the game was featured. Most of the characters found at the moment were played by Ho Sung Pak, Katalin Zamiar (who played almost every single female character of the game), Philip Ahn M.D. & Daniel Pesina:
    • Prince Pak
    • Tok
    • Sparq
    • Royal Marshall
    • SurRaider
    • Draccar
    • Chan Ho
    • Onyx
    • Surreal
    • Renegade Marshall
    • Fyrina
    • Velocia
    • Jack
    • Peace
    • Soldier X
    • Neptar
    • Billie Bobcat
    • Sakura
    • Shadow
    • Unknown Female Fighter character (the one Katalin played at E3)
    • Unknown Genie character (the one where Philip does a high double kick)
    - Here's some of the magazines scans. Some of them are VideoGames: TUGM, GameFan & GamePro:

    - I bet this was posted here before...: https://www.polygon.com/2012/10/2/3444618/mortal-kombats-johnny-cage-20-years-later

    - Now here's the big one that i bet you guys were waiting to know, Who has the remaining stuff that's left to be dumped online about TRF? Well, besides Curt Vendel, a man named Jason "Mega" Data has the other stuff remaining to be dumped online (the E3 1995 build, a Background image viewer and the near-finished build). He was willing to share stuff about the game with us but sadly, due to the closure of JSII & the stuff that popped about his previous experience with AA moderators harrasing him for selfish reasons at jagware.org (in which the post he did on the thread about JSII's closure is now gone from the site by the admins. there), he backed from the scene. But i found multiple ways to contact him hopefully...:

That's all about the game for now :)!

At least the video is still alive on the FB page. Hopefully someone is able to rip it in case it goes down there as well.
