Armed / Aftermath for the Sega Saturn

Several years ago, Don Russell answered a Craigslist ad for a Sega Saturn and around 50-100 games.

In that ad was a lot of Sega saturn prototype discs, including several unreleased games. One of those games was Armed, also known as Aftermath.

Over the years, several of the discs have been damaged, some probably forever. Don asked me to properly dump these discs before they were lost forever.

Don traded Armed and Bedlam to Drew Kerns of Oregon in exchange for Delisoba Deluxe and Eyeful Home. Don had Drew hold on to the proto discs for me to dump.

I finally was able to start doing that dump at Drew's house with a little help from F1ReB4LL from the Redump forums.

Don has allowed me to release Armed to the public today.

Very interesting indeed. I too have some material related to Armed/Aftermath.

Very generous thing to do. Glad it got dumped as original disc looked like it was staring to deteriate with some holes in it.

I'm part of a Saturn based podcast. We provided the URL in the podcast. Once that podcast is published (which i hope happens today, it is being edited now), i'll provide the URL here. We were hoping to build up some subscriber base with the release.

 

Ah okay. I saw it was a few days ago, so I thought I missed something lol.

 

Completely understandable.

At first, I was just going to release it off my personal server, but decided against that due to the recent increase of listeners and interest around this game (i don't want/can't afford to have my server throttled or down), so I moved the file to Mega.nz (which is what the decryption key is for)

Then, it became obvious that we could announce the URL in the podcast and maybe generate more interest and possibly more listeners.

We recorded the show Friday night and i realized i messed up the URL live, so i had to do a second take of the URL. We're in the middle of editing it all together.

A Murder of Crows I have a quick question, about Heart of Darkness's "Extended Memory required" what does that exactly mean? like does it capitalizes the 4MB Ram cartridge memory, is it some unreleased ROM Cartridge it required before cancellation, or does it utilizes the MPEG video card add-on? Thank you soooooooooo very much for releasing this lost piece of work!!

If you need a test run on real hardware i'd actually own one of those 3rd party Sega Saturn KD02 discs that runs on retail saturns and make a quick video showcasing how it runs on it.
