If you have a power supply for using in Japan but you live in the US you can probably plug it in without any issue. The voltage is possibly higher by a little bit in the US but it should be within tolerance of most devices.

Voltage may match, check what frequency it requires. 50/60 Hz may matter. But probably not.

Any small electrical product you buy in Japan will work with no problems on either 50Hz or 60Hz, because half the country uses one frequency and half the other. For example, the power in Tokyo is 50Hz, but in Osaka it's 60Hz (both at 100VAC). This goes back to the initial electrification of Japan, where Tokyo bought their generators from AEG (German, 50Hz) and Osaka bought them from GEC (US, 60Hz).
