email sent about power wire help, pm box was full. No power wire was included in the envelope and I'm wondering what I need to buy or if I can use the 28awg cable I clipped from an old computer video card fan (I also have a lot of 26awg wire and higher from power supply units and other computer parts), but I don't want to overload / short circuit ( I have no idea, clearly) or otherwise damage my saturn or the chip. Help please!

The other modchip, over at segastyle says to use a 30 gauge or 32 gauge about 9 inches long, is that the kind I need for this chip as well?

Edit: Used the 28awg wire and it works, glad I had one! Maybe for future newbies you could either mention the needed wire gauge in the PDF instruction manual (which was great) or perhaps offer a piece of wire along with the chips! I will be ordering a ps2 chip in a few days.

Still though, let me know if a 30 gauge wire is better in the long run.

Aloha Zer0: i'm wondering if you have chips appropriate for the PSOne (SCPH-101) systems, and if there are any bulk discounts on phantom chips at the moment. thanks!

Of course, best chip for the SCPH-101 is the Mayumi V4. Bulk discounts always available :).

As much as I would love to get a Modbo 4.0 from you, I sadly have no soldering experience. :(

Zero, if and when you get back to doing services and premods, please let me know. If you already have a premodded PS2 (preferably fat model), please let me know on that as well. Thank you.

Do you offer SegaCD/MegaCD region free BIOSes as well?

It's not on the list and l_oliveria has released new bioses here:
    http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/region-free-bios-for-mega-cd-version-2-00.54254/
[need to be byteswapped for burning]

Let me know if you have an idea on how to go about it.
Not sure a single BIOS image in a 27C1024 would do but it would be a beginning, it would be nice to have a 27C2048 with the first 1Mbit with the region free of choice and the second 1Mbit with a stock bios of choice (in my case for example I would like to have the Jap MCD1 [or MCD2] as region free and the correspondent US MCD1 [or MCD2] stock image so I can switch among the 2 in case of issues).
The difference is 1 pin (A16) that I can use to connect a switch. Alternatively I will have to piggy back and use the /CE or /OE for the switch. Anyway let me know.

Sorry phoenix i don't. It's next on my list of new things to stock up on though, just need to gather the funds.

The trick is right tools, practice and patience ;). Before i started a few years back, i was in your shoes but when i invested to proper tools and gained patience for it, i get it bang on 99% of the time.

I'm not sure if your interested in slims. but i'm pretty sure i have a premodded slim hanging around here somewhere, but i have to take a look, just haven't had time to take pictures and post it up. I'll back to doing modding services soon, just need to derust from my long break. (In about a month or so).
