  6. Wait, it says 'non-lethal'! What the hell, they're skimping on the functionality again!

To top it off the vehicle version only has a 30metre range - what use is that to you when a bullet will kill the scum kilometres away? If you don't want to kill em can just shoot them in the legs and hope they don't bled to death

Mmm, just one step closer to perimeter defense Tesla Coils (think C&C) to keep out those pesky neighbors...

the thing on my car above is a 7.62mm minigun with 3000 rounds per minute i dont think it would matter if you put plastic pellets in it or real bullets =)

I wonder how they get the tesla-coil like thing to discharge at a specific target and not just follow the path of least resistance.

Why does my Bullshitometer seem to be registering higher than normal?

Reminds me of that site with the "personal tactical nuke" handgun that looks suspiciously like a sawn-off grenade launcher.

Well, let's see what kind of half-assed physics I can pull out of my, well, ass. Outside the "target" perimeter of the Tesla Coil, there could be a "mined" field. Not a mine in the traditional sense, but one which attaches positively/negatively charged ions (I don't remember which way lightning is attracted) to anything passing through. If you can make sure that the buildings, vehicles and other "friendly" targets are the opposite charge, then you could reasonably assume that the lightning would be attracted to the proper targets. Or something like that...

You could use ion wind to carry the current. Grab one of those electrical lighters (the ones with no batteries and you have to tense a handle to get a spark). Open it up, and remove the earth wire, put it back together, and squeeze the handle, no spark comes out, but you get an ion wind, which, if allowed to come into contact with an earth will make a spark. Great for killing bugs when they are on radiators, window frames etc etc,
