The closest I'll get to that stuff is if I'm driving fast, at night with 7 people crammed into a 3 seat car.

Otherwise, I just find it out-of-place. I tried listening to it in a regular situation (going to/from school with earbuds) and I can't stand it. I feel like it's way to intense and crazy for sitting on a slow moving bus.

Dubstep was great until it started seeping into the mainstream charts, not sure what happened to it.

I enjoyed it for a brief period of time, but then I just started getting sick of it down the tracks, alot of artists had a similar robotic/modern transformers/distorted sound that I just couldn't stand. Although I don't mind older Dubstep that had that layed-back vibe to it, nice to kick back to on a Sunday.

As I start to get older, I require music to be a lot sexier, deeper, and funkier. Dubstep is none of those.

Is it just me, or does Dubstep sound like a Transformer being sexually molested?

In my opinion, Dubstep mostly suffers from being too repetitive because of the limited amount of characteristic sound elements. This problem may be solved once the genre develops a little bit more, although I cannot see it get as big as e.g. Hip Hop by the early 80's (let's say right now is Dubstep's late 70's) because there isn't as much creativity involved - and the threat of lacking originality/easy subsitution is abnormal.

    Original question:
I think some songs are interesting works of electronic music, but the big majority is really average to me. Problem is also that most people who compose dubstep are very young and inexperienced and a Dubstep song is basically their first composing project. I wonder what we would get if a veteran musician would try to compose some serious dubstep, that would probably much more enjoyable as long as you're intro electro.

Well said. I am still pretty young & it's unnerving to have same aged friends so into shitty dubstep. To each his own.

Also, nice King Of The Hill post.

i wouldnt class dubstep as rave.

but in all honesty i cant stand dubstep, not heard anything i like, normally there's at least one or two tunes i like in any given genre but dubstep just nope.
just doesn't click with me, call it grumpy old raver syndrome lol.

I absolutely HATE dubstep. With that said, my favorite band decided to try making some dubstep-y sounds with real instruments. This one song is seriously the only form of dubstep i like, although its really not dubstep, more like guitar-step, lol.

Skip to 1:29 to pass the intro and go straight to the actual song. Goddamn are those some wierd sounds coming from a guitar, lol.

As I have gotten older and my tastes matured, I have found most dubstep to be uninspired and repetitive. It's far too mainstream now to have many good new artists.

That being said, a few big artists keep the scene fresh and funky, literally. Like Koan Sound
