Since the other "Part II" is closed, I found this CLEAR Neo Geo CD system on Yahoo Japan:

Anyone got an idea where the hell one of these would have come from (promotion, prototype, etc)?

    Auction Link: http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m30124995

(Sorry ASSEMbler, I just had to post it before I forgot, hence the new thread.)

"Way overpriced. I bought it complete (w/ this cover) for like 2000 yen."

It´s not the same game ! You are buying the Emerald Dragon Taikenban from the mook.
The auction on Yahoo is for the Sample version, the versions are differents.

If it's what I think it is, it is even cheaper then. I had one ages ago, but sold it for like $20.

Mooks are not expensive, the most expensive are, I think, Bakuretsu Hunter and Anearth Fantasy Stories, but max $50. Of course the mook the most expensive is Akiyamajin ;-)

I can tell you the game is hard as hell to be found.
Dunno if 600 euros is a decent price though, but I think so :)

I'm sure it would have been spotted.

Shame there's no manual with it, for interests sake.

I'm just curious to know a little more about its background.

JPN PCB shops usually ask around 85,000 to 90,000 yen for it. I think the US version is in the $250-$300 range. There's a thread asking the same thing in the General Gaming forum if you search.
