I acquired these from eBay two years ago from a person who claimed to have designed the XrossMediaBar.

Unfortunately these notebooks are not just filled with notes related to the XMB, but other stuff as well. Like diet plans and other lady things. I can take more photos if anyone is interested in seeing more.

What do you think? Real deal or just Playstation 2 brand notebooks with sketches?

I went through all my emails related to the purchase and found the designer I bought these from.

    Link to her resume

I'm sure that these are real, but the fact that only about 25% of the pages have been used and there are patio sketches and personal life notes makes me wonder what to call these. Sketchbooks?

Are these designed for the psp? Could you scan more? I'd be interested in these.

Getting a letter from the person who used them that authenticate the contents would be the first place Id start.

These are sketchbooks used by a designer at Sony when working on the very first version of the XMB, which was then used on the PSX machines in some form.

I don't have access to a scanner, but I can keep a steady of flow of photos coming if there's interest. Maybe I'll start once the site has migrated?

It'd certainly be valuable to someone (even me, possibly) if they were authenticated.

I've contacted the person who these belonged to, and I'm waiting for her response.

And I took two more photos from some interesting stuff in the notebooks.

Early ideas for the background colour changes?

    Friendlist design sketches and more?

I will post better photos for everyone to see once the forums migrate. ;-)

I find the "wash the dishes" phrase in spanish pretty amusing ... :)

Haha well spotted l_oliveira, it's been ticked so I presume she must've washed them.

I really like the front cover of the pads.

EDIT: it's amazing even after 2 years have gone by she's still willing to provide you with a certificate of authenticity, she seems like a really nice person:nod:

If these were used for the PSX, then why is folding@home mentioned on the first scan you posted?

Unless the PSX had F@H, then this would at least date that notebook to around the time of the PS3.

Yeah theres no F@H on the PSX. And as far as I remember, there also wasnt an option for it on the earliest software versions.

Of course F@H wasn't on the PSX.. and neither were friendlists!
